Here's a little tutorial for creating a repaint. Example for Vectron 1. Copy RailVehicleDefinition 2. Create a child blueprint class for the RVV in the View folder And move it to your folder 3. Open RVV and make changes Go to viewport, and select the model which textures you want to change On the right side, close all the options except for rendering Create a material(I expect you to know how) Apply them on the Override Materials part in Rendering(you need to do some trial & error) Turn "Simulation" on and off to preview the mess 4. Apply to RailVehicleDefinition First of all, give all your files a name, in my case I used Test_Vectron_Definition Test_Vectron_Material Test_Vectron_RVV Test_Vectron_Texture Now open the RailVehicleDefinition, and set a new view actor asset(your created RVV) Save everything and close it. 5. Use in game Create a TrainFormation("Test_Vectron_Formation" for me), and add your RailVehicleDefinition Save & Close damn There you go, use the TrainFormation wherever you want and have fun.
I can do an additional tutorial for the ice, just tell me which one, if you want to contact me via discord: @emilsleeper
at best all three lmao but for now to get started with it the ICE 3M from KAH (Cologne-Aachen) and if it's possible the new textures should directly replace the vanilla ones in the same formation thats used in-game instead of making a new one and still being able to find the vanilla textures. it's basically like the ICE 3 enhancement pack for the KWG one, if you know that one.
Example for KAH ICE 3M 1. Copy RailVehicleDefinitions 2. Create child blueprint classes for all RailVehicleViews(RVV) in the ICE's View folder & move them to your folder 3. Apply the BP Class Childs to the RVD's 4. Copy the ICE 3 Trainformation, and replace the old RVD's with the new ones 5. Follow Step 3 from Vectron Example for each RVV If it says 0 Array Elements, you need to create them, by clicking the plus I forgot to tell, that the standard textures, you are changing, are in the Material part of the menu Result
dang this is some funny stuff man but thanks I'll retry it for one more damn time becuase this editor is boutta cook me (pun moment?)
https://forums.unrealengine.com/t/two-textures-on-top-of-each-other-in-single-material/487933 If you do this, you can reuse the old textures, and just put your own new stuff on it
no you know what I'm starting from scratch I'm gonna delete the RVD, FRM and RVVs and redo all of that to make sure I do it right
should I change Element 0 aswell or keep it default? because it doesn't seem to change anything visually
If you meen the override materials, the nr9 or sth(the last one) is the one for the outside surface, 0 was maybe the wheels, and make sure to preview it by turning on and off simulation
My Discord help offer is still available, @emilsleeper I‘ll be available at 17:30 Berlin Time Zone, maybe earlier
I hope so. everything I grabbed is from the KAH version of the ICE 3 (in this case M) so thats a yes actually
I guess not. am always spawning the one from free roam > 406 but I thought it would apply there then. if not then my bad but isnt there still a way to make it apply directly to the default formations somehow? plus idk where to find my other formation I made. with godmode perhaps?
Nope, some people definitely have made modding possible, but I have no idea how to modify any files, I'm uploading my version rn for you on Mediafire, so you can check that one if you want.
I kinda dont like it, that he is so much projects running at the same time, cause I actually wanted to create a desiro hc, but I have big struggles with the model.
so I did a thing with the ICE 3 from KWG and I guess that one works. but maybe because I made it a variant, willingly. it subs into half the services of the ICE 3 and is meant for the red stripe variant like in the ICE 3 enhancement pack but as a seperate livery instead of directly replacing it
Do you know how to import liveries or know a link to someone explaining, im new to this and the scenario is near finished part from the liveries. I want to do a gwr 800 for my gwe scenario and wanted to import other peoples liveries a bit like how someone did for WCL modern mod
yh i found theexport thing on god mode but i couldnt figure how to actually export it when i clicked on it, it just bacame a fullscreen 2d design. So where do i find this texture file? and am i putting it in the same file as above?
I don't know if it's just stupidty on my end but that would be nice, yeah. I did manage to set up the RVVs so you don't need to include that part (though I still have problems with decals not looking metally like they should and the big base skin of the ICE 3 on my part looks different in my custom material. maybe I have to look into it again another time but not when the editor does not recognise formation and view files when restarting it, thus not displaying them
The metal look is given by the material, thats a pretty complicated part, there is a metallic map, if you put in an image with #00ff00 it should be maximum metallic, just try it out.
Has anyone managed to download and decide creators club (UGC files) livery's and apply them to a loco, this is what the PC editor needs..........
All my Materials are "greyed-out", even though i've copied the RVV and created a child class and edited the RVV to point it at the child class, what i'm i missing?
