Let me start by declaring this has not affected me, as I am not subscribed to anything in creators club, but this thread - https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/lirr-m9-yellow.81129/#post-835854 makes it less likely I ever will. Why? The people in this thread appear to have been subscribed to a scenario for LIRR 1. They all suddenly had a livery for LIRR2 and the M9. I’m all for creators being able to update their work, but surely a subscription should be the same type so a scenario is always a scenario. An M9 livery is always a M9 livery (and can’t become any other train). This seems like a fairly major flaw with creators club if it can change from my perspective- but felt it would be good to have a thread to discuss this as I may be a minority. So - what do people think?
I guess, based on no evidence whatsoever, that this will be linked to two files somewhere having the same name. It will be interesting to try and find out how this happened. Is it as simple as original naming? Did the new LIRR2 do something to the old LIRR1? Is there another mod that the O.P might have applied? In a similar fashion, I have regularly had CL20s 'substituting' for CL37s in my Scenario Creations. No idea Why or How this happens and have reported it in the past. Got no response from DTG though. I would have thought that a livery shouldn't be able to automatically transfer from one locomotive to another. Equally a formation shouldn't automatically change from one type to another with the user/creator designing it. If there is a bug then you can only assume that things may get worse as more and more stock items get released and Formation Manager comes into play. (I've always wondered how the later would work when multiple users create multiple formations with the same name?).
