New to trying to play a couple of scenarios on CC but it has left me totally baffled. What am I missing here? How the heck are you supposed to work out which liveries you require to play a scenario as designed. Are you supposed to guess or what?!
If they don't tell you in the description, which many of them don't, yes. Personally, for my own sanity, I avoid the creators clubs, there is just so much wrong with the implementation of it.
The UI design is shockingly poor. There’s no logical flow to it, no way of knowing what’s what. The whole things is worse than hacking around 3rd party sites looking for TSC content. Is anything about this game not half-arsed?
In my opinion it shouldn't even be there, but as for "the rest of the game", I am very happy with everything else.
I've never once looked inside Creators Club but curiosity killed this cat so I thought I'd have a peek to see what all the fuss was about....and yeah, I see what you mean, it is all a bit on the higgledy-piggledy side. I do have one question though. i noticed some of the scenarios display pre-painted trains, so does that mean you get both the scenario AND the redesigned train if you choose to download one of those scenarios?
Yes, you have to download both the required liveries and scenario to play it like the screenshots show
Not automatically, and if the author doesn't list the one's they've used, then you have to try and guess which ones they are.
Ah, right. So if someone creates a scenario with multiple trains using multiple different liveries you have to manually find all the pieces of the jigsaw in order to see how the author intended it to look?
And no way to filter for scenarios by route, or liveries by train. Would be nice to see a list of scenarios for a particular route, and when subscribing to that scenario all required liveries are automatically added.
I cannot play at least than half the scenarios in the Online creators club as I cannot find, or cannot download, the dependencies. An author will list liveries required but then you cannot find them. Only the first 12 items of a livery author are available even if he or she has over one hundred listed. E.G. When looking for Trainfan's Networkrail JNA Inner and Outer I cannot acces them on the CC website whatever parameters I put in the search box. I can find them in the CC in game but it will not let me down load them. I am constantly subscribing then having to unsubscribe simply because I cannot get the liveries. It is a dreadful system. Maybe it worked in the early days when there were only a handful of entries ?
In case it hasn´t been mentioned yet: The search engine is a bad joke. I don´t bother anymore to even look at CC. It has "DTG" written all over it. Great ideas - CC was one of them - but piss poor implementation. I really wonder which first year intern raped that GUI. Oh, and did I mention the search engine is a bad joke?
It wouldn't be so bad if you could edit downloaded scenario's so you can use your own reskins/already downloaded ones instead of having to search for specific ones, remembering we are limited to how many liveries we can use! I understand the need to protect the author's work as to not upload it as your own but surely they can make the author's name not editable, just the actual scenario and not possible to upload it yourself. It would be useful also to add a couple of AI yourself if the author hasn't used all of the paths
It really is a travesty how the creators club hasn't been updated/upgraded since its release all the way back in TSW2.
I use it occasionally just to run my favourite locos on different regions. I’m currently running my SEHS 465 on the Edinburgh to Glasgow run.
