Introduction Cross city is a relatively old route in TSW and has become outdated this paid update will bring the old 323 units up to TSW 5 spec with guard mode but also add on a new timetable expansion explained below. This is paid due to the size of what is being added - its like its own individual route Expansion The line expansion would incorporate the Walsall-Wolverhampton line within cross city, introducing another large station and the highly demanded soho depot and Bescot yard which provides opportunity for freight services. This route has previously been operated by a mix of class 350s and now the modern 730s more detail below. stations( Added) Wolverhampton Cosely Tipton Dudley Port Sandwell & Dudley Smethwick GB Smethwick RS Birmingham n st (Existing) Dudderston (Existing) Aston (Existing) Witton Perry Barr Hampstead Tame bridge parkway Bescot Stadium Walsall Timetable updated AI 390s and 350s to London Euston Playable fast 350 services to Liverpool lime street ending at Wolverhampton Possible addition of TFW 158s after the Welsh routes is released depending on what comes out. Playable 390 services to Blackpool north ending at Wolverhampton Playable 350 and 730 services from Walsall-Wolverhampton 323 Farewell tour (No other 323s will be in this timetable it will be separate like seen in Cathcart) Depot moves from soho to Birmingham/Wolverhampton Freight and RHTT services New loco The brand new class 730 that has replaced the 323s will be included with the paid add on and will replace the323s on the regular cross city timetable and some of the 350s on the Walsall to Wolverhampton line.(Comes with guard mode) Bescot yard Bescot yard will be a start and end point for many freight and RHTT services but occasionally you will see some older locos such as the class 87, a 142 pacer (From its final tour through Walsall) class 08s as well as the large variety of class 66s and class 47s. Added scenarios HoHo depot - Due to the Christmas market opening today in Birmingham you will be bringing a 6 car 730 into service running fast from soho to Wolverhampton then semi-fast to Birmingham calling at only Sandwell and Dudley and Birmingham new street. Freight Failure(guard mode scenario)- Due to a stranded freight train near Bescot stadium your service has been delayed, keep the passengers content during the delay Pace yourselves - drive a pacer on its final rail tour from Walsall to Birmingham.
Well thought out suggestion. Smethwick Galton Bridge is an interesting station as it is split level with the high level platforms being a branch with WMR services between Kidderminster/Worcester/Malvern and Birmingham Snow Hill/Dorridge/Stratford-upon-Avon as well as a small number of Chiltern services to London Marylebone. So if that is modelled it takes you a step closer to some of the other midlands suggestions I've seen made (all of which I've been on in the past so those always get a +1 from me!)
They can use the route hopping feature between the 2, which is something that a lot of the new routes are being based from now.
Pretty much the drum I've been banging for the launch of TSW6. Cross City Extended - this would be exactly what I would add to it. I'd also look to add another separate loco DLC so that it's a similar setup to SEHS. Great suggestion - come on DTG, let's make it happen.
I don't know if they could get the WMR licence after the LNWR licence was withdrawn just before the release of WCML south as they are both part of WMT But I would love this route.
