I recently made a suggestion for York to Newcastle section of the ECML. This is a dlc that would be used on that route. The dlc would consist of cross country HST powercars and their coaches. There would be 4 livery’s for the HST powercars: Normal cross country livery BR blue - The br intercity 125 blue, also known as the original flying banana livery has been applied to a xc HST powercar BR grey - The br grey and yellow bruised banana livery has been applied to another HST powercar IC Swallow - The intercity swallow livery has been painted on another xc powercar Timetable: Today the timetable for HSTs in 6.06 departure from Edinburgh bound for Plymouth and 12:15 departure from Plymouth bound for Glasgow. For this dlc, dtg might have to use an older timetable when more HSTs operated to make this dlc worthwhile. Layers: This train would be used as AI around Glasgow Central, Derby and Birmingham New Street. There would be a drivable service between Edinburgh Waverley and Haymarket. Scenarios: Express Diversion - There are engineering works near Motherwell, take this xc HST from Edinburgh to Glasgow Queen Street Snow speed - Take this HST in the snow from Newcastle to York Powercar trouble - The rear powercar of the set is not working take this class 66 from Tyne yard to Northallerton and drag the train to York Summary: I would love this for tsw. I'd love to see this, it would help bring Cross City to life, not to mention Edinburgh as you say and any future ECML route (or a modern one in the Western Region). I understand there's an issue with the XC license though.
I'd love the see the X country HST's be brought back in tsw. Their getting phased out rn and I'd love to keep them going in the game!
Whilst it would be nice to see an XC HST, currently there just isn't a route where they'd be used for anything other than AI so would make the add-on worthlesss
More HST's would always be welcome, but I think XC don't let anyone use their likeness. They've been left out of TSC for example.
