I currently have Train Sim World 3 on my PS4, with around 15 DLCs. Recently, I've been debating between getting either a PC, or an Xbox Series S, as I want to be able to play Microsoft Flight Simulator, Forza Horizon 4/5, and a few other games that I cannot play on the PS4/PS5. The main thing that is keeping me from doing this is the fact that if I transfer to a different device, I won't be able to transfer my TSW DLC. Of course I could just keep the PS4, and carry on playing, on that, however, as time goes, the PS4 does not have the same quality in TSW, for example the less layers available to me on certain routes, and the lower quality of the game due to the PS4 Specs. Another issue with this is that if I were to transfer to a new generation and play half of my old DLC on my PS4, and half on Steam for example, I would not have the same cross-DLC compatibility with different layers, for example if I transferred to Steam, I would not be able to use any of the trains from my other DLCs on any new routes that are to come. I would love for there to be a way to transfer my DLC from my PS4 account to my Steam or Xbox account. I am sure I am one of many who either have or are considering transferring gaming device, and I think a way of transferring DLC would help me and many people save hundreds of pounds on having to buy them again for the better experience. Thank you for reading :)

Is there an existing method that I am not aware of?

Yes! DTG should add this sometime in the near future. They should have already added it back in TSW 2020 or TSW2 at the latest.

    I don't think so.

Unfortunately there's no way to do this. When you purchase a product from Microsoft/Sony/Steam, you're only paying for a licence to use it on their specific platform. If you swap platforms, you'll need to repurchase TSW3 and rebuild your collection on the new platform of choice.

Steam, Epic, Sony and Microsoft are all competitors, they all want you to buy games and / or DLC from them so they earn something besides DTG. For this reason, DLC will never be cross platform compatible.

Even if they did add it, it would likely be rather glitchy, knowing DTG and their LOVE reputation there will probably be a glitch that could could possibly let you transfer DLC over to another platform when you didn't own it in the first place:o. I doubt this will ever happen, Especially as its DTG.

This can work on paper but the only way you do cross platform transfer is Xbox Series X Xbox One to Microsoft PC Game Pass

It can't really work on paper- when you purchase a product you purchase a license to use it on the service you bought it on/for (Steam/Epic/Xbox/PS) - if DTG started undermining that there would be trouble. These big companies don't want people playing games on their platforms, when they make no money because it was bought on another.

So, unfortunately, I don't see this happening at all.
