The Class 345 is a Bombardier Aventra design electric multiple unit being manufactured for London's Crossrail. 70 nine-car trains are being manufactured at a cost of over £1 billion, with each train able to reach 140 km/h (90 mph) and carry 1,500 passengers.[6][3] The contract was awarded to Bombardier Transportation in February 2014 and the train entered service on 22 June 2017. Initial deliveries are of seven-car sets, which will be extended to nine car sets at a later date.
I want it, but not for the reasons given. New rail lines intrigue me so to have it and play it would be cool. And that it has multiple start and end points for scenarios is always a good thing
These trains don't go all the way to Ipswich - AFAIK Shenfield is the furthest from Liverpool St - 7/9 Coaches but No Toilets. The Great Western Mainline IN THE GAME does not have any wires beyond Hays 11 miles from Paddington. Your voting questions do not allow a No Vote
749006 Bit late to the party but I've made the Great Western Mainline with wires through to Didcot, you can find it on the workshop here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1587774059
The 345s on the East Side are all 7 car at the moment until platforms 16 & 17 at Liverpool Street can be extended (Platform 18 is going). Then each of the Ilford-based units will be extended to 9 car. That work was scheduled to take place once Crossrail opened. The schedule has become somewhat delayed, which may mean the 315s stick around for a bit longer. Unfortunately the lack of new EMUs is somewhat dating a number of routes across the UK now. I've said a few times that a 64bit friendly extended/updated/Crossrail-ready GE route (with Sudbury/Clacton and Southend Branches) would all really add something to the game.
