It has been stated before that most mines on the crr used rather no frill shunter/switchers for moving coal with the haysi mine being the more creative with there F7B unit.But since dtg chose to give this route only 2 locos the sd40&f7a(and no gp7's),it limits the options for mine shunters/switchers,so since the sd40 has been chose for most mine services on this route.Do you think any mine did or would have ever had or be able to afford a sd40 as there mine coalcar mover?
