CSX sand patch in it's current state if only freight . Passenger trains for this route such as Amtrak Capital Limited have been proposed. The passenger train I'm suggesting is CSX's own train. CSX like other class one railroads have their own passenger rolling stock. CSX has a set of special locomotives for the passenger trains reffered as Officer Specials. CSX has 4 F40PH-2 numbered 9993,9999,9998, and 9992. These locomotives only haul the passenger trains as far as I know. These are ex Amtrak locomotives. So they have HEP to power the train. CSX like UP,BNSF, and NS have a large collection of cars. I wasn't able able to find the to find the number of the cars excatly. CSX has about 35 cars they use currently that was the average of the numbers. Mostly lightweight passenger coaches and executive sleepers. They have several heavyweight business cars. They have 2 theater cars. And a couple of diners. Brief Photo Gallery. These photos do not belong to me. The set here is used for the CSX santa train, track inspection, moving the RR president around, and to impress posible customers. Running this on sand patch would bring a new experience. Riding different cars such as the theater cars in the back could make for interesting timelapes. The F40PH-2 would bring a new locomotive with the HEP feature.
There's only one station on the current route and, personally, I'd prefer for passenger operations to at least have a couple. So I'd suggest if they were to do this it be included in a route extension to facilitate one or more stations. Otherwise you're just doing the same thing as in the freight locos; managing throttle and brake over a mountain.
I like the suggestion and I also agree with Corvan here. Some more track and stations would be greatly beneficial to this sort of addon. The potential is there and I can see some fun scenarios coming out of having this added to the game at some point.
