With the current situation going on on TSW 6 and finding out console testing is practically non existent which is worrying as I am a console player I was watching a Train Sim Society video and agreeing with the points that he made that being said I have stepped away from TSW 6 and have been spending more time on TS classic enjoying the A1X from victory works on the isle of Wight line and steam Railway on the point of cActUsjUiCe leaving I don't blame him he does a good job programming on the signals on the US routes and it does feel DTG can't be bothered to patch or test their own games and DLC's and optimise them too with each DLC that releases more things breaks in the game Personally I haven't seen low textures yet on Series S but I do experience crashes a lot i was testing out the new TFW pacer on Blackpool branches but when i departed it crashed luckily it didn't crash again when I booted it back up again and ran the route
I do have to say it's a real shame to see DTG burning so many bridges. Brandon departing from the US content, months ago Victory Works said on a thread he wasn't even thinking of doing anything and has stepped away from TSW due to the way everything is run (still sad we won't see the hayling branch and Terriers). That being said there are some good things left it's not all bad. Looking forward to seeing what the Firefly guys come up with! Just Trains new route looks like it's going to be amazing, TSG always provide solid content too! With the positives we have in the game not all is lost! I just really do hope that DTG are onto looking at these core issues and console problems because for TSW to be successful it needs consoles. I think the most worrying thing I've seen is the post about how the full time DTG Devs are not putting in the same levels as Brandon has been, isn't a good sign for the game. We need more people like Brandon in this team and DTG should be trying to support them by any means necessary.
Trouble is the 3P's who are generally good, will be more and more hindered by DTG's own failure to address core issues. Obviously we are not party to what's going on internally at DTG, but easy to see the distraction that Metro Rivals is having and it becomes less and less credible every time the silly headphones and excitable gibbering like excited children is trotted out during presentation streams, for content which is abandoned not long after release.
It would be good to have an updated Isle of Wight steam railway on TSW 6 and a A1X terrier and possibly a Adams O2 class but with DTG not knowing how to get steam physics right in TSW and abandoning the idea altogether Mabye Just trains could do it they did it for Rail works back in the day I know its a short route but we need more preserved railways all we got is WSR Loco - Lswr 0-4-4t O2 Tank Engine And Lbscr Compartment Carriages | Dovetail Games Forums
yes that's the problem But Its DTG when will they get off their back and fix the core ? answer when hell freezes over If I am going to go back to TSC i need an updated PC still on windows 10 they say its save just dont download anything dodgy so for the meantime its my escape from TSW 6
First of all, I just want to say massive props to Train Sim Societies videos on the state of train sim world, it keeps everyone informed and spreads messages out fast in the community, which is always a good thing. Since 2017/2018, I have always had the most amount of patience with DTG, I have given them time and trusted them drastically, but, very recently, a change of heart has happened, my eyes have been opened, and I now realize the reason this game is struggling is due for the incompetent nature of how it's being directed, the painful and rince-and-repeat cycle that has been done 6 times already, has NOT benefitted the game, by fixing bugs, sorting the QA out and getting their priorities straight. The State of the game at the moment is just dire, the game is in a pure state of decay and darkness and the plethora of core bugs, the disastrous release of B2C and a company who is lost for thought with total disorganization is the exact thing causing this race down a steep slope. It is evident that more effort is put into the interest of stockholders, and their sales figures, than any route they have worked on in TSW6. The Blurry Textures and bugs that have stayed since the last game and even before then and a horrendous QA shows they have fiddled their words, broken their promises and majorly let down the community. To say TSW6 at the moment is a total shambles is an understatement. I'm not sure about anyone else on this matter, but I believe hope still lies in third parties, I would much rather spend money on smaller third parties like Just Trains, Incredible Trains and All Aboard Studios, who will value what they are given, through their hard work and dedication, than to that of a large company shutting it into the large pot of gold, to be stocked away, instead of being used to improve the game they themselves developed, this needs to be shown, that pure incompetence and lack of self awareness of the issues in your game, does not equal more sales, and the truth of this matter is, we need to vote with our wallets, make an impact and show that we care more for the third parties working hard and putting passion into their products instead of those who leave it in a state. All hope is lost in DTG, they are a lost cause, but hope lies in those who dedicate and put passion into products, and massively value and use profits made, to not only make amazing products, but to also improve apon every DLC, making it better and better each time. DTG, WE. HAVE. HAD. ENOUGH.
not all... see for example the farce that was the release of santa fe pack by high iron simulations, 18 months of waiting (and hype) for a reskin of two locos that already exist in the game and very poorly done (the warbonnet livery seems to have come directly from the creators club and maybe the one from the creators club is better) and it's good to make it clear that it was already known that there would be two locos that already existed in the game, the point is that not even the differences were considered, see for example the C40-8W cabin is exactly the same as the SPG version (and the SD40-2 is the same as the sherman hill version) edit: I forgot to add that, at least for the price charged for the santa fe pack, I could have bought the DB BR218 (a tsg masterpiece)
