Ok for steam how can I hook up two steam engine for uphill gradients in the formation. Should it say (x 2) coz I want both of those steam engine to work while going up gradients. Any help will be helpful.

I believe it would only work if you had 2 of the same locos in the formation.
or (if your on pc or on console + keyboard) you can do CTRL and - together to switch to the other locos cab, and make it move.

I tried it and it seem it still doesn’t work. I don’t see the steam coming out of the other steam train from behind me.

strange. I can’t think of anything other than, creating a consist (with other loco) spawning it on foot or free roam, uncouple the loco and delete it, add the 2 8f’s and couple them up to the formation,

Or, Maybe you have to manually release the other 8f’s brakes.
