I have made a custom Career scenario for the Steaming over Shap route. I have not made any changes to the tracks. Whenever I start it, I get an "unable to load tracks.bin" error message. Is this anything to be concerned about?
It's DTG's/RailSim's way of telling you "Hey you! You're a big stinky cheater"... Ignore it (Press F2 and Cancel) and carry on guilt free that no children were harmed in the editing of this scenario.. Apparently there is a way around this you just need to ply Spikee with enough wine gums so that he drunkenly spills the beans.
Never happens to me when creating own scenarios. Only when altering existing ones - and then it shows "Unable to load -scenario.bin-" not tracks.bin.
In any case it's just a checksum mismatch the game detects. Scenario.bin error: Mismatch between the scenario.bin's realtime calculated checksum and its checksum string in ScenarioProperties.xml, or altered loco simulation.bins which affect the scenario timings. tracks.bin error: Changes in the network structure, maybe only an added marker. Often a "Network" folder outside the MainContent.ap is responsible, or updated route assets. Not fully explored this one, mostly cancelling the message lets you play without trouble. If there's a scenario breaking change, you'll get notified with a pathing error message. I'm just downloading that route and create a simple Career scenario to check. This is what I hate about these asset packs (remember the broken Yelland signals on Bacup?) - which one's the correct file?!? Much too often assets are modified by someone...
Spotted this at Preston... guess where it's from? Right, Buckeye\Lanky. GeoPcDx was apparantly copied from another folder, and texture references not updated. fixed two textures, one "corriron.TgPcDx" still missing.... Q: Does anybody have Assets\Buckeye\Lanky\Scenery\Clutter\Textures\corriron.TgPxDc? You can do a quick search by CDing to RailWorks\Assets, then type dir /s corriron.*
can you zip it here, thanks Seems you got these from another route's asset pack The texture reference in the ashunit geo is ../Buildings/textures, though it's in the Clutter folder. Nevermind - it's included in the Steaming Over Beattock asset pack!
TSC and its route creators never stop to amaze me. Beautiful backdated route, stuff TSW players can only dream of... (it's Ormskirk - Preston - Blackpool all the time ) Steaming into a summer's morning
