Hi guys it's me driverwoods#1787 and I have a TSW 2020 recording of Main Spessart Bahn DB 86109 the 09:59 freight to Gemunden from Aschaffenburg. My question is this does anyone know what PZB mode is this train supposed to be in? My guess is a mode M train due to it not having a 2nd DB BR185.2 or DB BR187 is purchased like 86108 which is a Mode U train due to weight.
    Here is the video

All freight trains, regardless of weight in U mode. Due to the large incline of the railway line on the ramp in both directions.

You mean the entire Main Spessart Bahn Aschaffenburg-Gemünden route.

The exceptions to that are The double-headed services like 868108 09:49 and the Banker services (Schiebeilokomotive) that must stop at Laufach & Heigenbrücken these are mode U. That's based on my observations.

Are you sure this is an actual rule? From what Matt said in that thread, it seems he's basing the "all trains in U" on the fact that the trains are as heavy as the locos are allowed to pull, but on a gradient like the Spessartrampe, locos would only be allowed to pull way less than they actually could on the flat due to the gradient and couple stress. As far as I know, MSB's 2% gradient is still well into normal rules territory whereas special rules for steep gradients only start to apply upwards of 2.5%.

You mean setting them in Mode M instead of Mode U or keeping them as mode U on PZB. Main Spessart Bahn does need Riesa-Dresden brake selector switch on the goods wagon & Locomotive.

All pre-DRA German freight wagons are permanently set to G mode. Use the tables in the other thread accordingly

So you mean my other video 86108 has to be in Mode U because of G brake setting and weight so is this one 86109. If Riesa-Dresden brake feature is activated on Main Spessart Bahn then P brake mode M or U.
