As we all know, the DB BR 101 is an upcoming locomotive add-on for Train Sim World 2’s Hauptstrecke Rhein Ruhr route, and still is in production on the Roadmap. I have been wondering what trains it would pull on the route, when it comes out in the future.

Also, do you think we will be able to use it on other routes too, e.g. Schnellfahrstrecke Köln and Hauptstrecke München-Augsburg?

I doubt that the 101 gets a layer in HMA. Because the Cabcar is not included. So you would always have to use two 101 or you would have to write a timetable like in the Legends of Great Western where when one 101 arrives another 101 couples to this train. I can't imagine DTG doing the extra work for layers only.If we still get layers then only for routes where you can leave the route on both sides (RRO, RSN, SKA, (Hamburg-Lübeck?))

Yes and it must be done because it's pretty much the standard locomotives for German Intercity trains that includes IC31 Nuremberg to Hagen RRO via Lohr Aschaffenburg Main Spessart Bahn Basically using the MSB Schnellfahrstrecke Würzburg Hannover Connector. Even HMA gets DB BR101 as IC 60 & 62 lines to Salzburg. Although a Community member from the Mannheim München Corridor can confirm my guess was correct or not?

So far no dlc add-on in TSW has added layers to previous routes.
This in my opinion detracts from the value and therefore number of sales (especially at full price) of this type of product, so it would be nice if that started to change and what better way to do it than with BR 101.

That’s not 100% true. The DB BR 182 was retrospectively made available as a substitute for the DB BR 185 on the Ruhr Sieg Nord and Main-Spessart Bahn. You are right as far as no new locomotive has got its own timetable on older routes. I hope the same as with the DB BR 182 will also be done with the DB BR 187/232. It would be nice if we could use this two Loco for freight trains everywhere

Indeed, I was talking about adding layers with dedicated services on other routes. Substitution is possible in some cases as you rightly say.

I think it will have layers for HBL, but thats it. I think the release is going to be the 101 and then HBL. So they won't announce that probably until an HBL preview stream after the 101 has been released. And if they do add it to others it will be once the preserved crew goes over that route again.
