I've recently posted a thread suggesting an expansion for the Mainz-Koblenz route and a member it would be great to add and old style loco which would definitly match the time of this route. The loco is the german electric loco DB BR 120 from the 80s'. Here are a few pictures of the loco. Tell me what do you think
oh hell yeah! vmax 200, and I believe thats the OG highspeed loco with multiloco / MU capability (remember those ZDS BR120 switches in BR101 and BR182?)... a big yes from me... and I believe they are still in service
All in all a nice addition, never has been quite popular, but was the "grandmother" of all modern rolling stock. While the old 103 and new ICE somehow rolled over it, it layed the foundation, on how locos can be build in the next century. Even though railfans never really paid that attention to it, it's surely missing.
well, the steam thing is still popular, y know, also cos from almost birth you are exposed to steam trains in fairy tales, children's books, board books (books for little children with hard pages to be more durable)... check many children books for "train" and you will find a steam loco... this somehow becomes ingrained in ppl (not only children stuff, but also many fantasy and other movies, where it is presented as sth somehow cooler) dont take me wrong, they are nice pieces of engineering, but as for myself I am more interested in more modern rolling stock, electric and some diesel... the fast, the safe, the modern and with interesting tech the stuff that makes sports cars tiny toys for... ok lets not go there lol
This is one of my favorite german locos to run in TSC, and I would love to run it in TSW as well. It is pretty versatile and could be used on various routes so I think this would be a great addition. I would prefer a mainline diesel loco to be built first, however.
