I wanted to take a Trip on the Schnellfahrtstrecke Köln-Aachen with the DB BR 422. I wanted to set the FIS and I noticed that the 2nd EMU erases my selection every time I approach both FIS. I then wanted to set the second manually and noticed that the FIS was completely different. TSW2 has taken one 422 from Rhein-Ruhr Osten and one from Hauptstrecke Rhein-Ruhr DLC and put it on the rails together. Why do the two DB BR 422 actually have different FIS?

Yeah the 422s from both routes get mixed since Preserved Collection. That only happens if you spawn the 422 from the menu though. And the 422 doesn't have destinations for SKA anyway.

I know that SKA does not have its own FIS. I was just looking for something that might fit. That's when I noticed this Bug.

Ok I found a better bug. One EMU where the front part is from the Hauptstrecke Rhein-Ruhr DLC and the back part is from the Rhein Ruhr Osten DLC. Both Pictures are the Same EMU 21382a55-bdc7-4349-93ff-90123ae8d0f4.jpeg 8343d584-ff82-489e-a855-65f8a69d8dd8.jpeg

I wanted to switch off the FIS and noticed that S5 Hagen was still written on the back of the first EMU. Then I noticed that the train had completely different numbering at both ends. The first EMU was put together from both DLC. While the second EMU only came from the Hauptstrecke Rhein-Ruhr DLC.

They never updated the 422's to have the FIS for SKA. It doesn't even run there IRL, so I don't think they would have the Display for the S12/S13/S19.
IRL, the BR 423's run there. (The trains you see on HMA) They just have a somewhat different livery, and changes to the FIS System.

A reason the FIS is messed up on the 422 may be because it wasn't originally made for that route.

I know I just wanted to turn the FIS off. I didn't want to drive around with "Nicht einsteigen" That's when I noticed this insane bug.

This is out there for half a year now, but since it is not game breaking we'll have to wait for a fix for quite a while i fear

Maybe they'll fix this bug when the Vossloh G6 for Rhein Ruhr Osten and the DB BR 101 for Hauptstrecke Rhein-Ruhr are released. Let's hope so.

Rolling stock teleported into a route by layering is 100% identical to its form on its "home" route- there are no changes to them of any sort. The 422 you get in SKA is not an SKA 422, but an alien visitor from RRO or HRR. Or both, if you have what Star Trek calls a "transporter accident."

However, I believe there are mods which can alter the FIS options available on German trains; the 422 may be one of them.

What probably could happen is that they will just replace the 422 with the DB S-Bahn Koln DB BR 423 as that's the train that actually runs on that route in real life although it probably won't happen for a while

A simpler stopgap would be to reprogram the layering routine so that it imports the 423 from HMA, if that DLC is present, in preference to either 422.

I can't see DTG building a new 423 in Cologne S-Bahn livery, except as a paid DLC. And I can't see that happening in TSW2 (too much work, few likely sales). TS is different because a new loco can be ginned up in a fraction of the time.
