While most, if not all of these locomotives have been suggested at one point or another, I feel like creating a single thread would be the easiest way to keep track of most modern North American locomotives. Granted, they aren't the most exciting things to be added to TSW2, especially since not much has changed to GE's design since the 90's, but they are what most of us in North America see on a regular basis. Ill only be covering locos that come from the main Class 1's that DTG have a license for (So no Ferromex or KCS atm). The list starts with modern road power and works down to local power, some of the listings are combined with rebuilds and such. These locos can either come as part of a new route, or added on as a loco DLC (If we ever see on of those again...) Very excellent list if made SD70ACET4 CSX version will also Unlock the same achievement for it if it's the Union Pacific version. You tend to see this with some of the locomotives here for example running SD40-2 AC4400CW CSX on Sand Patch Grade counts Towards the milage run for the Union Pacific versions Sherman hill and Cane Creek. UP CN CSX GP38-2 Versions have the achievement count towards Norfolk Southern horseshoe curve version.
Can't forget BNSF's 3 SD32ECOs (rebuilt SD45-2s with 12-cylinder 710 prime movers). CN has recently ordered 20 SD70ACe-T4s (road #s unknown) BNSF rosters rebuilt GP30 and GP35 units (from BN and ATSF); called GP39-2s/GP39-3s/GP39Es/GP39Vs/GP39Ms.
BNSF also rosters GP39-2s that are basically turbocharged GP38-2s. UP and BNSF also have SD38-2s and BNSF has SD39-2s. MP15s and SW1500s are also still in use on some railroads (UP, CSX, etc.)
That's good and for the Cajon Pass route, it needs a reskinned C40-8 SD70ACE p4 which can then be reskinned to get CSX 8900s and UP versions. I wonder if the CSX ES44C4 which they call ES44AH has a lever control for Dynamic Brakes & Power or is it the same as an AC4400CW? In the AC4400CW Up the power throttle is Dynamic Brakes down is power
That "first responders" livery on the SD60 is amazing. Is that an accident shown in the SD80MAC picture, or what's the story there?
That SD80MAC somehow rolled into the turntable pit at the Cumberland Shops, though it would be interesting to post since Cumberland is in TSW
Heh, I was so distracted by the locomotive's situation that I totally didn't notice the Cumberland sign right there. It was obviously reversing, so did the driver just forget to make sure that the track was aligned? Or maybe the guy in the shack did the thing where you kick someone's chair away just as they're sitting down, but with the turntable track. That loco would be a hilarious mastery reward, but I guess the licensors would frown.
