Now the Blackpool branch lines has arrives the Class 55 now will be a perfect engine for this route and or other classic 70's and 80's routes as well. I would love to start-up this engine on a depot and hear the engines spooling up. The Deltic on its own was already present in TSC and even the Payware version from Armstrong Powerhouse for TSC is brilliant. Especially for their sound recordings AP has made due to the original Deltic sounds Class 50 should be part of the routes as well. Hopefully they will come soon to TSW4. The same issue here as well. and once again I do link to Armstrong Powerhouse due to their magnificent sound recordings that has been implemented in the loco package. Both engines will have a warm welcome in the TSWx collection When will these engines appear in TSWx?
While the 55 would be nice to have, they were already all withdrawn by 1982. Blackpool is set in 1986, so wouldn't fit for it. It's also not on the ECML, so wouldn't be seen there even if the years were right.
As already stated, due to location and era, Deltics would not be appropriate for BPO. Also, as fantastic as they are, the Class 50s would be highly unlikely to appear at Blackpool in 1986 as the were busy running Thames Valley services from Paddington and West of England services from Waterloo at this point. The Deltics would be a superb choice for Peterborough to Doncaster railtour duties with the Class 50s ideal for Penzance to St Austell. We just need a developer to be brave enough to create both as dlc.
A Deltic could work as a loco add-on for Peterborough-Doncaster using the Flying Scotsman railtour stock. D9000 Royal Scots Grey worked the route this past weekend.
I'd love to see this but at this point, I would be surprised to see this loco appear in game. There is not a universe that this wouldn't tick the right boxes in their 'L.A.M.P.' system. It's dodging obvious choices for these quick churn outs that I highly doubt people were demanding in high volume... Looking at you Glossop Line.
The Deltic and Class 50 would be awesome to see in game. Perhaps we could get a Class 37, Class 47, and/or Class 60 and some new freight equipment in a BR diesel pack for ECML.
In real life the mentioned engines were designated to work specific routes, and I personally don't know which engines runs on which route, but still it would be great to have these engines around as well. A minor example is the WCML over Shap in TSC. I never knew the 55'didn't work the BPO. In my own scenario's I made for the 7MT Deltics were hauling IC trains between Blackpool and London in my point of view. Some class 20 are passing by, some class 86, 87, 47 before the 7MT commence driving. Another type of engine I like to drive the most is the 7MT. If this engine comes to TSWx I am sold........!!!!! Unfortunately I can't drive them due to PC iissues. My old game PC needs to be replaced and therefore I run TSWx @ PS4 only. Here some great screens of the time my PC was in good condition. The Deltic to Blackpool. The Deltic departs. The track here shows the 87 at the siding which is here electrified. However the same track in TSWx is not electrified. An encounter with class 86 hauling a freight train towards Preston and further. One of my favourite screenshots. The 7 MT a few miles before Carnforth heading for Carlisle.
Good suggestion, I think a Deltic would work in a 1960s based ECML route to set a transition period between steam and diesel traction, which I recently suggested My thread -> Route - East Coast Main Line In The 60s: Newcastle To York | Dovetail Games Forums
Deltics might not suit BPO due to location and era. Instead, they'd excel on Peterborough to Doncaster railtours. Class 50s, while fantastic, likely didn't serve Blackpool in 1986 but suit Penzance to St Austell perfectly. Hoping for a DLC with these accurate choices.
Oh wow I’d love to have this loco on TSW. I am tempted to buy a PC to play TSC as so much more steam choice.
I will be a very happy person when the Deltic is announced for TSW but I should have been the main loco for this ECML Railtour Pack instead of 47484
Agreed. 47484 was a Old Oak Common locomotive and would be better employed on either West Cornwall Local or GWE. The name and livery were applied to mark 150 years of GWR in 1985.
and she wasn't the only 47 to be re-painted into the faux-GWR livery either.. it was same situation with the WCL Railtour pack - it should have included ex-GWR steam not the LMS Jubilee
Both engines, with their distinctive sounds and historical significance, would be a great addition to the game, especially for players who enjoy classic British trains from the '70s and '80s. The Deltic, especially with the sound recordings from Armstrong Powerhouse, would bring an authentic and immersive experience. flappy dunk
