Steam Store page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2662430/Train_Simulator_Tennessee_Pass/ Schnauz' review:
I use the Media button, but apparently this doesn't work in all browsers? Firefox is OK, Chrome/Edge not??
Cookies. Must accept sugar and gluten-free cookies. No anti-tracking add-ons. Ad blockers. Nada. The embed works in Firefox right now. I think it's fine in Edge, too.
In spite of tons of fast forwards I fell like I totally wasted my time with this DTM/Hi Iron hater gibberish from this guy. Whether you choose to spend $40.00 is your decision certainly not based on this. It's a nice route on a very unique route through the Rocky Mountains. You will learn a lot more about the history reading from a real source. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tennessee_Pass_(Colorado) It appears from what I have run so far a very well done piece of work. My only criticism is my usual about Mile Posts creations, no civilians wandering around but that's a small thing anyone can fix if you so choose.
.... still waiting for the unbiased, the whole naked truth reviews by RWA, where nothing is overlooked or smoothed over .... I often do not like Schnauz' snarkyness but overall any critical review is better than the everything glossed over non-reviews just to push the sales. And watching the video, spooling back and forth, made me decide to wait for a discount, since it is just one more of the up-the-mountain=down-the-mountain runs, with a somewhat crudely modeled steam locomotive and repainted old stock in more or less nicely modeled landscape. At least devs, JL and crew, are not self-agrandizing, like HIS' who blatantly shameless calls himself a 'renowned' or 'noted' developer. While he is only the manager putting the other people's stuff in the HIS folder, often with lots of faulty paths.
I just see the guys name and I steer well clear, I only ever attempted to watch one of his videos and I think I got in about 30 seconds and a few skips and decided nope....
I appreciate short, concise, well scripted reviews showing the ups and downs of an offering, possibly comparing to other products and reality. I avoid shilling and complaining, doesn't entertain or inform me.
Where did you find such a review? It is always helpful to look at a prospective route purchase through different eyes.
There are a lot of reviews on YouTube for various TS Add-ons and most are very good - look at some of the German reviews But this one might could have been by somebody who has never played the game before.
Have tried out a couple of the scenarios. Much preferred Feather Canyon out of the box. I am not a steam train fan so cannot comment. The GP9 out of the box I was not impressed with.
those included scenarios are only there to show off the DLC's rolling stock, often not much thought and effort went into them there is a market for scenario packs after all again, I rather have DTG de-bundle route from rolling stock and have the combination at some discount
Don't feel hurt. There is people that appreciate unbiased, extensive reviews. Keep up your good work !, I found myself always on more or less same mood about TSC DLCs than you, be it on YOU TUBE or on STEAM. Anyway a nice DLC but a litlle pricey for what we get IMO.
If I can be a voice in the wilderness here, I usually find your reviews quite helpful and informative and the quirky humour is great too. I haven’t watched the Tennessee Pass one yet but your coverage of the Run 8 MP15’s was good and after buying them tend to agree with your comments. As regards TP, well not buying just yet - so much to do already in TSW and TSC (barely touched the routes I bought in the Easter sale), seem to be dividing my time between the Goblin Line and ECML in TSW, WCML in its various guises in TSC and Run 8. One to put on the wishlist for 50% off in a sale.
