I can confirm I have once been derailed by an AI train behind me rear ending me on Harlem. This was months back so I don't have footage or anything and cannot remember the service it was on, but replicating it would probably also require replicating the red light bug I experienced prior to it, so might be difficult. I'd got stuck behind a train stuck at a bugged red light and waited a bunch of time to see if it was indeed bugged or if it cleared. Suddenly I derailed. Reloaded the save to see what happened and on the map saw the train behind me approaching up the track. went to external cams and was able to see it run right into me.

I just hit this very same problem. As soon as I get to the step to couple to 30 wagons I stopped short. Hit the wagons at .5 mph. both by hand and using external camera I couple the wagons and get instant derailment service failure. EDIT: This is AFTER I applied the Jan 9th update

DTG Matt So Matt, where are we with this? I´ve noticed this thread has been unpinned. Am I suppose to believe that all the efforts to produce videos, screenshots and standard reports (on your request!) have been in vain? That these issues will slowly vanish into cyberspace, that they won´t be fixed in TSW2 where it all started? I really, really, from my heart, don´t want to believe this! I rarely tag someone from DTG, but this time please tell me if these issues are gonna be addressed or should I get drunk asap? BR Pipe
Issue Summary: Instant Derailment Platform: Steam Game Mode: Journey (Diesel Legends of the Great Western, Chapter 1: Put a Gronk on it) Route Name: Great Western Express Loco Name: Class 08 BLU Service/Scenario Name + Start Time: 5X03 Coach Preparation, 03:22 Step-by-Step Instructions: Start the scenario. Boom, you're derailed. Might be instant, might be after a couple seconds. One time I managed to fly around the loco in external camera and saw that the buffers were clipping heavily into each other. The loco isn't positioned correctly. So the game tries to correct that and pushes the loco violently out, sending it flying off the track. Here's a YouTube video I found, with this problem visible: Except the video is from TSW2, so the loco doesn't derail, but just keeps shaking. You can see the buffers clipping into each other 20 seconds into the video. However, in TSW3 there just isn't time to get out of the cab and do the uncoupling, as the loco derails immediately upon the scenario starting. The issue is months old. This scenario is among the first ones reported as having this problem (post #5 of this thread). I think you get my drift.
The video from post# 5 is from TSW2 as well. And it DOES derail. Actually I´m a bit surprised that the author of this video was able to uncouple without derailing. As soon as I release the brakes it goes boooom. I shall try to uncouple without brake release, maybe it´s a workaround to get this scenario done at least. (Geeez, to what point we´ve got, after paying truckloads of money ... )
I don't know if it's the same issue or not, but yesterday I was doing the Dospolok BR 182 tutorial and when I was asked the couple to the Habbins freight cars, the buffers were rock solid. I didn't derail or anything, but it was quite bad. No buffer in them at all, they just stopped me on the spot and the loco bounced back.
Yes, I´ve got this with the BR 363 on RSN to the point that it renders the automatic coupler useless. She´s bouncing like a kangaroo. Video is on post# 18. I see DTG brought this ill-conceived patch over to the "new" sim.
Your post made me replay this: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...-workaround-for-5x03-coach-preparation.64220/
Are you doing this in TSW2 or TSW3? Because in TSW3 there's just not enough time. Even with perfect keypresses, releasing the brakes takes too much time and the loco gets derailed anyway.
It's on TSW2. I won't up(?)grade until these bugs are squashed. PS: I tried 4-5 times until getting it right.
Given the attitude of the devs, that is, "TSW3 first, then TSW2," you might be waiting a loooong time. I mean, TS2016 still hasn't had its bugs from release fixed.
I put in a ticket about this issue when coupling to the 30 wagons in SoS, Edgehill Sheds Edgehill yard. I even sent screen captures of the cause, as I show in this post https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...e-hill-sheds-edge-hill-yards-derailing.62999/ The response I got back wasn't very promising that it's going to be fixed, They say that just to move the wagons forwards means they need to rewrite the core program? Surely if the people that test these routes should have seen that the end wagon is hanging off the track, embedded in a buffer stop, and on closer inspection has no front wheels? Even the route map shows the wagon off the tracks. You can't miss it! As I've stated before DTG seem more concerned on how the games looks, than how it plays?
Issue Summary: Buffers causing derailment Platform: PC-Steam Game Mode: Journey Route Name: Northern Trans-Pennine Loco Name: Class 47/4 BLU Service/Scenario Name + Start Time: Red Bank Rotation 17:00 Step-by-Step Instructions: Follow the scenario up to “couple to formation” task. When approaching the out of service train, the buffers of the latter jump around like crazy, clipping 1 meter into the locomotive. See the screenshots below, all within the same second. So if you try to couple your loco is sent into space. TSW3 with all available updates applied.
Hmm! doesn't look like I will be bothering with buying NTP very soon then. As I can't imagine that they will bother fixing it?
Which would be a pity because it´s a fantastic route for those who appreciate the old BR workhorses. With Diesel Legends and Heavy Freight Pack I know I learnt to love it. I rarely do but I´ve tagged Matt P. in post #112 to have a perspective here. Without success though. I get it, I´m prolly not worthy.
So I looked a bit into the buffers of the Class 45 and 47. It seems they are bugged in general. I hope these observations can help the bug fixing. - Clipping with the carriages buffers also occurs for both 45 and 47 before they interact, both uncoupled as well as coupled. This does however not cause derailment. (See screenshots below) - The derailments are occur when the Class 47 approaches the Class 45 from one specific side. The buffers go crazy and touching makes the loco jump. The game allows coupling even when not touching, so that is the workaround for now I guess. Decoupling causes derailment as well. From the other side of the 45, or when the 45 approaches the 47 this does not happen.
Yet another route that I so much wanted to own Full of bugs! I am gutted and very disappointed. It really saddens me Unless DTG Matt can have a word with the boffins in the dev's department to see if they will fix these issues. If they can't be bothered, then I will give up on DTG products and take my money elsewhere. Might be a lot more expensive, but I might switch over to MS Flight Sim? At least they fix their products!
What´s really annoying is that this route was near to perfect (OK, with aged assets, but else?). What you see above wasn´t there when I got the route. The buffers and couplers were just fine. It was implemented by an amateurish "patch" that was intended to fix derailing and buffer issues on SoS. (Update 1.86 for PS4 players) Instead it messed up the whole sim and waits for a fix on TSW2 ever since. I´ll refrain from further comments. There might be underaged kids on this forum.
