There is an announcement on Facebook from DTG about the Deutsche Bahn Collection. https://live.dovetailgames.com/live/train-simulator/articles/article/deutsche-bahn-collection So do the people that write this stuff know what they are talking about? From the article "You can find many officially licensed DB routes and locomotives in Train Simulator Classic, allowing you to recreate rail operations from all over the country in the simulator" There is a list of German routes available thru Steam from DTG and others - fine so far. Unfortunately they seem to think these locos would be good for a German route Train Simulator: Class 67 Diamond Jubilee Loco Add-On Train Simulator: DB Schenker Class 59/2 Loco Add-On Train Simulator: EWS Class 66 v2.0 Loco Add-On Train Simulator: EWS Class 67 Loco Add-On Train Simulator: EWS Class 92 Loco Add-On Along with a few UK Wagon packs. Will you be driving these on the German routes DTG Jamie ?
I see your point, I suppose there is room for a bit of clarification. It's not a German collection but DB. (Wasn't / Isn't there a German one?) Without being precise, EWS became part of DB Schenker changing to DB Cargo, either way part of the DB family. One can absolulely drive British stuff in Germany, as far as the sim is concerned. Triggering AWS may be a hit and miss, but it's visual signaling anyway. Not that DTG needs defending, just the tone baited me. Also not sure why they didn't post here. A bit random. Like my screenshot wasn't posted on Face and yesterday this week's wasn't in the loading screen reel, but is on Face.
I have done that many times - you could not do it in real life as the Overhead Voltage is different. It's that fact DTG mention only German Routes in the article but suggest UK Locos for those routes. New players might be upset with a lack of scenarios for those routes I digress with a few pictures off this page - http://www.traintesting.com/IVA_88.htm
If you want to be up to date with German operations, you need to go to third party and freeware anyway. DTG have not done anything relevant for German train sim classic for a while now. The 55 minute stream yesterday was also underwhelming. Jamie driving two scenarios and barely saying a word the whole time. People are having huge discussions in the TSW area about if DTG have dropped steam... maybe we could discuss, if DTG has dropped TSC? To me, it looks like it. Yes, I know about core updates. But to me it feels like it´s the last thing they might be doing for the game. They have gone very quiet about doing new routes for TSC the past months.
The opposite works too, I discovered the DB 648 has AWS and the alarms to go with it (I used it to test quick drives - and just found it funny )
The community isn't exactly kind to them - whether justly or else, not the point. Many on these forums insist that - in my words - the official offerings are a hobbyist, entry level quality. I would get tired of the constant bashing, too. Plus, with many offerings covered by third party, it may be a little difficult to offer stuff. As far as engagement goes, just look at the entry count in screenshot comps, or general posts. Interest in TSW is about ten times as much as TSC. Also applies to creators. My hope - many years ago - was a new engine for TSC, but TSW became a separate game, so. I have a feeling it's about 2006 (or 2008) and we're playing MSTS. What's actually funny is how the small players on the market managed... Trainz was an underdog since forever in many terms, and yet. They somehow managed to idea of keeping most or even all old content playable (not that you'd really want to, or a lot, but you can).
triznya.andras I disagree. I think it´s more about money beeing made in TSW. The community seems a lot more toxic than the TSC one. I don´t think that bothers the producers. Also the TSC community is much more spread out to forums (railsim, RWA Austria, ATS Facebook etc.) rather than all gathering in the DTG forums. I own alot of TSW stuff myself, but it does not keep me entertained for long. I keep going back to TSC, because I own so much stuff for it... I don´t really want to start over with new games and wait another ten years, until all the rolling stock we have in TSC is available for some other game. If the payware producers drop TSC, I might just keep building routes for myself... because the rolling stock offers everything, I need for scenarios.
