An idea for a diesel themed railtour pack that would add services across multiple UK routes. This is inspired by West Coast Railways who operate vintage traction railtours in the UK using a fleet of owned diesel locomotives with Mk1 and Mk2 coaching stock.

This would be similar to Rivet's West Cornwall Steam Railtour (although not specific to one route necessarily) and the Class 57 Rail Tour add-on in Train Simulator Classic.

If licensing cannot be obtained for West Coast Railways branding, then a possible alternative would be to use a fictional but visually similar brand, such as the "Rail Tours Company" maroon livery from TSC. This would be an acceptable use of a fictious livery in my view.

Such a pack would also be more appropriate layering onto a modern route, with locomotives and coaches in modern day configurations (such as the fitment of high intensity headlights). No more railtours looking like they just exited a wormhole through time!

    Choice of:

    Class 33:
    Class 33 WCRC.jpg
A much underutilised locomotive in the TSW catalogue, it would be nice to see it make a second appearance sometime. These are the rarest of the WCRC diesels, with just two of the /0 series currently operational, and can be found operating shorter railtours and as standby/shunting locomotives.

    Class 37:
    Class 37 WCRC.jpg
A classic diesel with a good soundtrack, often found running with shorter rakes of carriages or double-heading on longer trains. Due to their lower weight classification, they are usually seen over a larger selection of lines including most notably running Jacobite trains on the West Highland Line.

    Class 47:
    Class 47 WCRC.jpg
Another common diesel found on railtours, due to their type 4 power rating they often run longer trains and act as thunderbird locomotives on the back of consists in case of breakdowns. They also come in use for piloting return legs of a journey when a steam loco cannot run around.

Lucky bonus (Mk1 RMB or RBR):
    WCRC Mk1 RBR.jpg
Historically found on the majority of express services for catering needs, they can sometimes be seen operating in railtour formations today for the same purpose. With the added benefit of transplanting these back into Peak Forest and Spirit of Steam!

    Thoughts?

Time to add them into the game and owners of this pack will find out they are actually counting for the original versions in terms of achievements when it comes to mileage runs. I do remember this in TSW2020 Star Tours Tracking for me when NTP Class 47 counts to WSR version 470 miles. For German routes you are looking at power surge 1550km using the Pressnitztalbahn Baureihe 155 1820km true Taurus Dispolok Baureihe 182 future ÖBB Baureihe 1016/1116.

Great suggestion! A pack like this would be extremely versatile, and I think West Coast's handsome maroon livery would add a welcome splash of color to some routes.

    Yes please!
    Especially a RMB...
And don't forget a set of tours for the Class 40, too, give it Load 13 to haul.

Something like this could be the first loco DLC not tied to a specific route, so even if you only own a handful of routes you would still likely have playable services for this pack.

There used to be a Class 40 railtour pack on TSC thinking about it, I wouldn't mind seeing something like that on TSW as well. The Class 40 does also deserve a second use in-game, if we don't get something like a BR Green diesels pack for SOS/Peak Forest.

Ideal place for the Class 40 would be North Wales Coast, with the backup Aviemore to Inverness. Or maybe Dundee to Aberdeen,

Every route should include a few railtours. I'd be interested in such a pack, but only if the locos aren't limited to a single route. Made that mistake with the Class 33 DLC and I don't plan on making that mistake again.

This whole idea is to decouple a DLC from a specific route and make it more universal. Rivet could have done this with their Steam Railtour, although I think there's now more timetable services for that DLC on other routes than there is on West Cornwall Local.
