It would appear that the game does not have a digital signature as flagged by my Internet Protection software. Is this to be corrected?
A digital signature would require you to have access to the public key for DTG signed by a Certificate authority that you trust installed on your machine. All a digital signature is is a hash of the file that has been encrypted by the Private key associated with DTG. You validate the signature by hashing the file you have received and comparing your calculated hash with the hash from the unencrypted signature. If they match, you have proven the files hasn’t changed since it was “signed” and it came from DTG. While all this checking can be done in the background, the hassle of having to install a DTGs certificate and then DTG having to hash and encrypted every deployed file probably is not going to happen. In fact I don’t know of any game distributed with a digital signature… of course I could be wrong. Not sure what AV product you atr using, but I would guess it was just a warning and it didn’t block the file… if it did, mark the file as an exception and move on.
