Just a heads up - may affect certain users - I may just have been behind the curve; I recently had reason to look at my Customer Account with Digital Traction as I wasn't certain I had the most up to date version of one of my more recent (2024) purchases. It turned out that the download had been removed from my account and that there was also no record of me on their website (didn't recognize my email address) - I would have to create a new account and log in. I followed this up with an email to DT and was advised that the Customer Accounts no longer exist due to a couple of reasons that were understandable. Not a particular issue for me in terms of my previous purchases which I have always had backed up, however it may affect some other users. I was advised that replacement in future would likely be at DT's discretion. Did I miss an email from DT about the Customer Accounts being closed? Although presumably at DT's discretion anyway the Sendowl system allowed, I think, up to 5 downloads as a backup - that has gone. Rod
I bought a pack from digital traction probably over ten years ago under an old email address with a password I could no longer remember. I contacted them via web site, they reregistered my account to my current email address. I thought this was superb customer service. Perhaps a contact via website will sort things
I have sent a message via the online contact form. Just awaiting a reply. As its Sunday the earliest I am expecting a response is in a day or two.
Took them a couple of days to get back, but they sorted it completely. good customer service I thought
I have had a reply from DT. As in "august1929"s post, DT customer accounts no longer exist. Being withdrawn due to a few issues they were experiencing. Also a reminder to make sure to backup all your 3rd party files. If you do require any files replacing to make a list and contact DT. Its also at DTs discretion as to whether these files are free or come with a cost. I can understand where they are coming from as its your responsibility to back up any files you have downloaded. I think I have all the files backed up, but I cant cross check this against my purchase history anymore.
Yes, my backups of purchased and downloaded assets (of all natures..freeware, payware, routes, rolling stock, scenery etc. etc.) so far comes to 1.75Tb (the backup also backed up). All catalogued and easily accessed if required. So DT's decision hasn't actually affected me but it is a timely reminder nonetheless. Rod
