Has anyone figured how to disable the text pop-up that shows up whenever a train stops, doors are opened, etc? I find it to really affect my immersion. What makes it even weirder is that it does not show up on all routes, eg, on Dresden-Riesa it does show up but on older routes like London Commuter it doesn't. If it can be made to show up only on some routes why can't it be toggled? Is it something related to the engine? Seems like this should be easy for DTG to add in the HUD options? So far the only solution I've found is to disable the HUD when parked but that doesn't seem like optimal. I've tried to disable various HUD elements, notifications, etc, to no avail. Any ideas or experiences?
Really bizarre! I wonder why it's only visible on some routes? Well, too bad I guess, it's just really unfortunate because it seems like it should be something simple to implement as a toggle, at least for me personally it really hampers enjoyment of the sim. Here's hoping for a fix (one day)!
Can you post a screenshot or video screen capture? I don't have Dresden-Riesa. In the timetable editor, each instruction has two checkboxes to Hide Objective Notification and Hide Objective Completion. The timetable masterclass video suggests ticking the second, which I've done on the timetable I'm building for East Coastway. So it's not per route, it's per instruction. I'm sure DTG could add a master toggle to forcibly hide all messages, but there might be a usecase for showing users some important message that they would not want to disable.
It's a bit difficult to take screens from routes where the pop-up isn't present (eg. London Commuter), but here's one from Dresden-Riesa. I just realized both are actually originally TSW 2 routes which makes the original question more puzzling. Your reference to the editor makes me think that it's possible DTG is inconsistently (?) hiding the notification on some routes and not on others as you pointed out it's a toggle. A thought I got was could a user potentially hide the notification by modifying pre-existing instructions/timetables? I'm not at all familiar with the editor myself.
It is not possible to edit published content like timetables in the official editor. The unofficial editor can open them but loses formatting, comments, and other data that’s helpful for organize complex projects like timetables.
Bummer! Well, guess I'm stuck with just turning off the HUD occasionally, not the end of the world but kind of annoying, thanks for responding!
