While most scenarios allow you to proceed from a station straight away, maybe with a two bell acknowledgment to the guard, there are a few that stick a whopping big dialogue box in the middle of the screen at every single station that you have to manually close, telling you that passengers are loaded.

Is there any easy way to get rid of these ultra annoying dialogues, or do you have to edit each one out of the scenario?

Keeping the option to pause the game when these boxes appear unticked allows you to keep playing the game when they're on screen. Then you can close them later on.

The scenario author decided to put them in, so you will have to remove the messages from the scenario instructions. If that's worth the work. I just don't mind (wouldn't put them in my scenarios - just important things.)

I hate this so much. It wouldn't be so bad if you could close it by hitting Esc, but having to mouse over the close button is a royal pain in the arse.

Agreed, a key to close them would be nice. But they'll close automatically after a few seconds (if Auto Pause is set to Off).

Pretty sure the author can set a lifespan for the message box if it is launched via a LUA script, but the standard ones don't

For anyone comfortable in using the Editor you can simply remove the dialogue boxes from within the scenario, this will not interfere at all with the way that the sceanrio runs.

I had one beauty the other day, where an information dialogue appeared the very moment I passed over an AWS ramp giving an alert.

yeah, but I like autopause, as some of the longer loading time route scenarios allow you to go for a pee, or make a coffee while it's loading :)

I have to admit that I'm guilty of using these dialogue boxes in a lot of scenarios I have made (my reasoning being to provide information on the ETA of the next stop for those who don't have the interface open for immersion). With some of my more recent scenarios I've limited the use of these boxes just to providing important information such as notices about delays or obstructions. Knowing that players do find these dialogue boxes annoying when they come up after each and every stop I'll continue to restrict the usage of them from here on.

If anyone is interested I use part of a mod for the NERW route which reduces the background size of these boxes. Most of the time the text is still within the bounds of the box (occasionally it isn't but it hasn't bothered me so far) and the close button remains in its usual position but to me it feels far less intrusive especially if you cant immediately get to closing the box straight away.

The link to the mod is below if you wish to try it, you most likely wont need the mod for the route itself so just install the 'Data' folder from any of the versions (there are 3 but it doesn't matter which one as we are only interested in the pop-up dialogue box part of the mod) and leave out the 'Asset' and 'Content' folders

Nice one Reef, when you put the comparisons side by side like that it really does make a difference

That's certainly more attractive with the transparency.

Must try that, certainly a big improvement.
