Just finished an eternal full-length night freight run. Here is the problem- uniquely in TSW these services are timed. This is not unprotypical, freight trains do run to a schedule, even if not as rigid as passenger services. What is wrong is the absurd speed required. I note that the Vmax for this run was hard-coded to 140 km/h, which is ridiculous. Hauling Habbins and Kjils loaded with machine parts (or anything), you are limited to 100, full stop. (If you do the brake-weight calculation this train actually is limited to 90). Which means in turn that you don't arrive at 1:12 AM- you arrive after 2:00, 50 minutes later than scheduled. This in turn means the "Wait until 1:12" instruction never clears (I got around it by using God Mode to reset the clock).

Come on, TT designers, pay a little attention to the real world!

That's an age old DTG issue carried over from TSC. There was this (quite interesting) scenario on Hamburg Hanover requiring you to navigate through Maschen yard, pick up an intermodal consist, and timings required you to run this at full speed 160 / 200 LZB.

The only solution is to simply don't give a damn about the timings. You're doing everything right, if you're late, it's your dispatcher who is to blame. No HUD and ignoring the final score makes TSW playable.

The entire freight timetable on KWG is badly authored and makes very little sense. The times shown for any waits along the route are completely different to the actual wait times and many services require you to wait for an age at the end of the service until it goes to the debrief screen. I don’t think I’ve driven a single freight service on the route that didn’t have some kind of issue. This is in contrast to the passenger timetable which is very good.

There shouldn’t be any service running with 140, though. I have encountered theses timing issues as well and solved them the same way as you did. There are other services which arrive up to 30mins early as well even if you stick to the max speed. Problem with those is that they tend to be blocked at the other end, as other trains are now in the way and you end up in a dead lock.

But the fright KWG timetable is, to my knowledge, the only German fright TT which was taken from a real TT. The consists are somehow made up, but follow their real life counterparts. CWF made a post about it upon release:

Now I am curious, whether there is any actual reason for this other than paper rules? Both wagons have bogies rated for 120 km/h. I'd assume that the usual limit to 100 when loaded is combination of brake requirements and limits for directional forces (curves and slope changes). But none of those actually matter a lot to a train running under LZB on very straight SFS track.

This is what made me turn off scoring in TSC. You could have perfect run, arriving with full points, and just because you're late, because of unrealistic schedule, got -321563 points deduction...

DB Cargo says the Habbiins and Kijls can do 120.

I have already completed several freight train services and was always late at the destinations. I don't know what triggers the end of the service in this case, but I've never had to wait longer than 10 minutes. So if you arrive at 01:32 and the game says "Wait until 01:12", just be patient. I don't use Godmode and was able to complete all the train services I ran.

same here. sometimes it refuses to complete after two minutes of waiting and I use the save mode. it's the only thing I use it for actually. I save. go to the menu. reload and after a minute or so it finishes the service. the KWG full freight runs especially with freight calculator are a bit weird as you really need to go at AI speed to make it. same goes for the night trains on multiple routes. instead of DDm wagons we use Laaers that are rated for 120 km/h empty an 100 full. but drive them at 160 or more.

That's forgivable I think, because they aren't "really" Laaers, they're standins for the actual DDms on passenger cartrain runs.

I know they are stand ins. but I'd like to see the actual DDms some day as they look way different. maybe Voralberg could have their cartrains too then.
