Just a really quick post. I just tried making a Distance Field Blend setup (which is one of my favourite UE4 features) to merge assets with the landscape and it seems to be working rather well. Bad thing is that we don't have an RVT support, which means that it will be a bit tricky to get the texture transition on a real landscape. The asset's material would basically have to include the entire landscape material to get the right color in the transition, which is at the same time pretty important thing to get right.
