Between the leaks and other information (such as TSW4 leaving Game Pass), we suspect that a new version of TSW is released annually. I hope this time you have implemented a DLC manager that prevents us from having to uninstall everything from the old version and reinstall it all again? If not, can you provide us with a procedure to copy the DLCs from version 4 to version 5 without having to redownload them? Asobo (a French studio, of course) is preparing a new version of Microsoft Flight Simulator. They explained in their FAQ that it will suffice to take the game's DLCs from the Community folder of the old version and put them in the new version, then simply apply the updates. Are you not able to do that?
I would also like to see a DLC Manager that allows you to select which routes you want installed, without having to tick and untick in Steam then manually delete the pak file in Windows Explorer. As TSW5 is likely to take my install size over 300Gb, time to triage the unwanted content is rapidly approaching.
That would be nice. The PlayStation Store is an absolute nightmare for the re-downloading. It insists on downloading all versions you own (TSW2020, 2, 3, 4, ...).
Yeah major pain in the ass. For people like me that own basically every DLC, I have to go into the store again and "buy" each one for the new TSW, even though the price is $0 it takes forever, and then like you said it insists on trying to download every version of the DLC, even for the PS4 versions of the games I don't have installed. You can at least avoid the multiple version if you do the actual downloading this way, instead of pressing the download button in the PSN store: >Go to the icon for the game on the main PS5 menu. >Press the options button on your controller. >Select "manage game and add ons". >It should show a list of all your owned DLC with a download button right next to each one, if you hit that button to download it will only download the version for the game you have installed.
Right, I had never used it like that before. So, I could probably just “re-buy” all the stuff but then do the download via the manage content thing.
That is exactly how I do it... But I always wonder how many people out there who are less technically minded have all kinds of old version of the DLCs installed taking up space on their SSD. Before I figured out the truck with the manage add-ons button I would often have a few GB of PS4 DLC accidentally downloaded. Not DTGs fault of course, weird Sony issues, but TSW being re-released over and over again exasperates it.
