Is there any kind of manual for using the GAD signals from the Dorset Coast and West of England routes? I've had a look at the signals in the routes, and some of them have $=2000 or some other number, but I can't figure out what they're meant to do. On the route I'm building, the signals work partially but only open when the train is close. I've asked on the GAD Discord but I haven't found anything yet.
The scripts are by "AndiS" over at www.trainsimdev.com . However, that site does not seem to be working just at the present moment. The scripting system is very complex and custom-coded, with near-perfect results for semaphore signalling. I wouldn't recommend their use in other routes as they would almost certainly be fraught with problems. I believe they have also been used by Armstrong Powerhouse, but I know of no other adoption of this system. John
Some people on the Discord helped me find the manuals. They’re in a pinned post in the GAD Discord. My friend is doing most of the signalling on my route and he’s very good at it, so I hope he’ll be able to get them working properly.
Excellent! All should be achievable with the manuals . . . by somebody with a better brain than me, and that's not difficult. John
