Does Niddertalbahn Have Emergency Brake???

Discussion in 'TSW General Discussion' started by SD40Australia, Apr 29, 2023.

  1. In real life?

Because in sim it doesn't and when I went to drive after turning off the rear cab on 2nd set it didn't want to play nice ROFL

The one time I was eager to press the emergency brake button or lever ROFL!!!

It was the scenario called Tree hugger, or hugging trees....

As I normally like to leave a cab in the OFF position (the scenario instructions didn't say to turn it off or some parts) I did that but it messed it up and couldn't stop so lost the chance of completing the scenario....

I could power the engine but couldn't apply the brake.....

I'm not complaining.... just want an emergency brake ROFL.... but is there one in real life??? In the cab there is not but in passenger cab maybe....

I don’t own the addon so my advice may not be the best, but haven just looked on YouTube at the cab their doesn’t appear to be any typical big red emergency button/lever, though perhaps it’s on the brake handle as an emergency position (I don’t think I’ve ever recalled a train to not have one accessible in the cab, passenger buttons tend not to be programmed in game)

I did notice a parking brake so could try checking that.

my advice would be to always follow the scenario instructions to the letter, even when you will learn different ways of doing the same thing faster. They can be a bit fiddly from other dlc’s and can lock you out for not doing it in the set order.

The Niddertalbahn probably wont have any emergency brakes ;), but the BR 628 does of course. Just activate your train as usual and release the brakes (train pipe to 5bar / Brake zyl. to 0bar). Then make an emergency brake application, so the pipe gets fully vented (0bar).
Not sure the MG brake does add more brake force in tsw, but for the emergency it would activate when the switch in the cab is on.
