I remember DTG stating before they don’t monetise their videos on YouTube, however I’ve seen ads on a few, just noticed one on the Canadian Oakville trailer. has YouTube policy changed to monetise even without consent, if not they may have an issue/dispute with YouTube.
Pretty sure this happened a few years ago, there's a difference between Google/Youtube putting ads in to videos and creators allowing ads https://www.forbes.com/sites/johnko...n-if-creators-dont-want-them/?sh=709a34604913 https://support.google.com/youtube/...appear on your,in the YouTube Partner Program.
Yes Youtube can now place ads on all videos, but if the creator hasn't enabled monetisation then they won't get a revenue cut. I have Youtube Premium given I watch a lot of stuff.
I don’t understand the monetising/demonetising process. Some content providers (eg Walk With Me Tim) have to mute their mikes when there is music for fear of being demonetised, yet other videos have plenty of music. Some bleep out swearing and adult references for the same reason (Charlotte Dobre is a good example - and I can thoroughly recommend her) yet others, well, Kevin Bl**dy Wilson for example?
So with Music, if you get a content match everything goes to the Music rights holders, and you can no longer earn anything from the Video. Techmoan has been zapped a few times like that when demonstrating vintage hi fi equipment. One was a 3 second Beatles clip in a 45 min video. So it depends if you are willing to risk a video being zapped like that. Similarly being family friendly can mean you get better paying ads run on your channel, it's really down to what the creator prefers and many now try and use Patreon/Sponsors rather than ad revenue
seems like DTG may aswell just monetise them, no damage done as YouTube won’t hesitate to hold back an ad opportunity… or several…
Some ads start in the middle of a word. They are obviously set to start at particular times, no matter the context of the video. I have started downloading videos I want to watch using Internet Download Manager (IDM). Them once you get past the advert(s) at the beginning, you can download them and watch them in peace. I copy them to a memory stick and watch them on the TV. Not strictly legal but I watch them then delete them so yah boo sucks to the rules.
Yes, and the ads are ridiculous. You are literally bombarded with them. Creators have no say and don't get a penny.Google have ruined yt
As far as I know, YouTube doesn't automatically monetize all videos without the creator's permission. However, there have been cases where ads show up on videos even if the content creator hasn't enabled monetization. It could be a glitch or something else going on. If
This has been there for about a year now, this is just Google trying to get money in every corner possible…
This is incorrect. Youtube are forcing crapverts on everyone. The content creator makes sod all, whilst google (Youtube owners) Reap the rewards. It a disgusting practice
