The Doncaster to York line is a 32 mile stretch of line that runs from Doncaster in South Yorkshire to York in Central Yorkshire, it would be a great little add on for the current ECML and would include the iconic York station as well as the NRM and the sidings outside of York. The Leeds lines are a 29 mile stretch of commuter rail that runs from Doncaster to Leeds in Yorkshire. There are 8 stations in-between Doncaster, and this would be a great addition to the forthcoming ECML. Why this route you may ask? Well this route would be a well received addition to Train Sim World 3, and it would take the current ECML to another level, with the inclusion of a northern 158, along with a class 331 (which would be the new train added to this route) as they run the South Yorkshire commuters between Doncaster and Leeds, also adding the Leeds/ York lines opens up potential for these stations to be reused as assets in other routes, such as the Harrogate lines, and the York - Leeds via Church Fenton lines. The routes total mileage adds up to 61 miles. Stations on the line Doncaster: A major town and transportation hub with historic significance. Very nice and awesome idea funny you mention adwick remember when northern used to serve there in days of pacers running to/ from Sheffield
Yesssss, we need this after the donny to peterborough part of the ecml has been announced. However the 185, 170 and 158 don't go through the whole route and most likely ai at donny. Would be an excellent route for tsw4 which I could play all day
I was going to suggest this route haha I was literally getting my class 331 pictures ready! But seriously, a really good suggestion and would love to see this added.
Great suggestion as these would add to what will already be a great route. Lincoln and an 800 would also be nice to have.
I'd like this as I've travelled on the line before. You'd only really need the 801 (which I think are the only 80xs on the line as its all electric), so the only new train needed is the 331 for the stopping services.
Can't see it being an extension as they've already made their ECMl (but who wouldn't want it). At least it would have given more variety, other than high speed runs with no end services.
I'm currently hoping that Doncaster to Peterborough is just step one and some day after many extensions we'll have the whole ecml!
the 800 also goes on this route for the harrogate services . (the line between Leeds and Harrogate which won't be in this route is unelectrified!)
I really like the idea, especially the 170 and 158 Northern. I don't see why not take advantage of the license!
It would be a great expansion for the existing Peterborough - Doncaster route, even better if they gave us a 91 or at least HST reskin...
