It seems that ECML Modern has Doncaster as part of the route. What are the differences between the Doncaster included and the old Doncaster Works route? I have had ECML on my wish list for quite some time and only recently added Doncaster Works to the list. It's clear that I will get more variety with ECML, but should I also grab Doncaster Works? For the current sale, after spending who-knows what, I am down to choosing between ECML Modern and WCML Trent Valley, both of which have resided on my list for too long.
Donaster works, although somewhat dated is actualy quite a bit of fun. It has working tranversers etc. The graphics are not up to the latest standards but the included scenarios shunting the old broken stock around is quite fun. It can also be useful for the included said "broken stock / crumpled locos " if you are in to scenario creation. ECML basic will aways be cheap and to be honest is pretty LOVE visually. WCML Trent Valley is certainly worth grabbing in a sale. It is a terrific route that also incorporates the Daventry Rail Freight Terminal DIRFT and you get passenger announcements when using the included Class 350
Thanks for the info. I was referring to the other ECML "Modern: York to Peterborough". I was unaware that DIRT is part of WCML Trent Valley. Now it is really tempting. I wouldn't mind a massive rail yard to mess with. I have the Class 350 with WCML South, but Trent Valley's is different from what I hear. I am tempted to grab both but really think I should only take one now and another during the next sale.
I gave in and grabbed both WCML Trent Valley and ECML Modern: York to Peterborough. They just installed but it is time for bed. Looking forward to some runs tomorrow. Thanks Craigie-C for the info about DIRFT!
