Hi everyone haven’t posted for a while but I was wandering what everyone’s opinions on this model train would be it officially entered service after 4 years and has had so many good reviews in only 4 days of entering service me personally I feel like it would be something different since it was built in Korea instead of the DB Double decker with this one they could do a whole seperate map for it aswel? Just after everyone’s opinions and hopefully we can push to get it onto all platforms. Also this model train is possibly been trialed in Berlin as they sent one from Australia to Berlin a while ago
Not entirely sure would have to find out more but if I’m being honest I would personally love to see this model in the game with a rlly big map to go with it
whaaaat... thats like the first time I hear a railway system not accomodating for double decker trains... I thought UK had those, but maybe thats cos there are TGV Duplex trains using HS1? ... how come? most of UK tunnels are lower or why? Dostos/double deck trains are so cool <3
There’s no RGV Duplex running on the HS1 in real life, only in TSW. HS1 was build using larger loading-gauge commonly found on continental Europe. In the UK, they tested a double decker EMU a few decades ago, I think the project of having double decker trains was quickly aborted as it would’ve cost a fortune to rework some tunnels but also to elevate bridges, because of the restrictive loading-gauge, any Brits to confirm my sayings.
Yup, the SR 4DD was an attempt to make a double-decker train that conforms to our loading gauge. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/SR_Class_4DD Our railways were built by private companies at a time when double decker trains weren't at all necessary or even conceived of (hell, they even made tunnels too small in some places due to scrimping, such as on the Hastings line where specialist stock ran until the decided to single the lines through the tunnels) and it wasn't bombed enough in the war to warrant a complete rebuild, which is what happened in many European countries.
DD carriages using modern automatic doors take longer to load/unload at each station, so aren't that suitable for the high density commuter routes with short distances between stations found in the UK. And (as has already been pointed out) they won't fit within the restricted UK loading gauge - a classic example of first mover disadvantage.
I feel like this post belongs in the suggestions or off topic threads. This channel is meant for content already in TSW. Hopefully a staff member is able to move it. DTG JD ?
