Whoa, did not expect DTG to announce a Dutch route, including two an SNG and the Koploper. I'm beyond excited for this route

 

all-in-all, this was a really good announcement.. I was expecting TSW5 but I wasn't expecting the GWE Remaster as well as the introduction of Wales for the TSW Franchise.. Also Just Trains are back at it with another brilliant sounding route (Preston - Carlisle) and the introduction of the BR Class 87. Going from my exprierence of Blackpool Branches, I cannot wait to see what magic they cast with this one!

It would be nice to see 390119 & 390121 in their special liveries but I bet they will be normal AWC livery

San Bernadino is not of interest for me but as part of the bundle I will play it.
WCML sounds great, with the additional rolling stock even more.
Frankfurt-Fulda is not what I was hoping for but if Frankfurt Hbf is just a bit as good as they say, it will be really cool to play. Bit like London Victoria I hope.
Upcoming route Mannheim Saarbrücken and the Great Western Remaster sound also very nice.

CTS is making it's way even if it does not really interest me personly to drive in a fictional city.

The Roblox Tycoon... Ok, I don't know anything about Roblox but maybe this will change.

TSW VR is nothing for me, I'm not into VR in any ways.

 

Where's the pre order? Frankfurt Fulda without a 761, 762 is really just sad..

 

Someone on the forum thought it could be 43002 "Sir Kenneth Grange" in her heritage livery as the ticket was blue & yellow but I hope it's a Class 50 for DLoTGW

 

Tentatively hopeful for the Wed/Thu additions for more in depth look at routes and features. The Preston route from JT could be great. The "Route Hopping" has potential....

Nice and what game is Zwolle Groningen. For TSW5 it would be extended to Oldenburg Hbf 129km.

Regarding 377/2 WCML what routes would a layer onto my guesses are ECW and BML. WCML Needs class 92/90/325​

 

Went into this stream excited for WCML South, left it excited for WCML North, GWE remastered and my part of the country getting representation (South Wales).

I'm still immensely excited for WCML South, although I am disappointed it's not longer.

I took this to mean they've worked out a deal to allow the FGW livery back into the game. That livery takes me back to my childhood so that's what I'm hoping at least. It's always been hidden in the game.

So, the 390 comes with the special and deluxe editions only. Stand alone release later on maybe? Presumably it won't be part of the free starter pack.

Otherwise, kinda ridiculous you have to pay for routes you already own just to get it (I own Cajon, Bakerloo and Kazzel to Wurzburg and do not want to buy them again especially as I never even touched them).

 

The new content is supposed to be available on launch as separate addon.

 

I am so happy for TSW 5, already ordered the Deluxe Edition!

But it's so unfortunate that VR isn't a core feature for TSW 5. I really hope that it will be a thing in the future, also for PS VR2.

 

Yeah, one route and Meta Quest exclusive, I appreciate it takes time to remake things to fully take advantage of VR, but wasn't expecting it to be a completely seperate game for only one headset.

 

390 should b available as a standalone add-on either at release or shortly afterwards (similar to Flying Scotsman, Vectron etc for TSW4).
As for the free starter pack, no routes would be included except maybe training centre. It's just a free upgrade to the core game so that you can still use TSW5 and all your previous add-ons without buying the routes or bundles.

 

Exactly as we all predicted. The only saving grace is game pass. Absolutely NOT buying it again.

 

Is the roadmap Thursday or tomorrow?

 

Not as I read it. You can choose one route out of the three with the starter pack, so for example you could get WCML Euston to MKC free. But if you want the German and US route as well, you need to buy minimum of the standard pack. Happy to be corrected if that's not the case.

 

Well not EXACTLY.
Plenty of people assumed even a simple upgrade to TSW5 would cost money, and DTG has committed to the free upgrade of the core game. That's a positive development I think that shows they did listen at least a little to the customer base.
Now MOST will probably still get the Standard pack since it gives 3 new routes (which is a pretty good deal), but at least the option is there for others (like myself) who don't like the 3 new routes.
Eh... you win some and you lose some.
Commuter routes aren't my thing and they're all commuter route with MUs.
Not HAVING to buy any new routes and JUST upgrading for free is a very nice thing for DTG to do.

So if I was to get the starter pack in the time allowed and just wanted the uk routes and locos I could get it as a bundle?

Why?

 

You get nothing with the starter pack but the core improvements. (However it's also free, so that's fair)
If you want the routes, you can get the Standard, Deluxe or Special packs that add more routes.

Route hopping is fantastic! Not quite the ‘merge’ I was looking for, but a very good start. Hopefully this means we’ll get more ECML and can have extended journeys on there.

With conductor mode, DTG Matt have trains been made this time such that you won't end up being ejected out please? As this would be frustrating if trying to walk around the train.

 

You can play any routes you already have, you just have to upgrade them to the TSW5 versions (also for free) to get full functionality with new features.

The Direct was enjoyable to watch and well produced. I actually feel like Dovetail are making progress for once. Excited about the new UK and German content and some nice quality of life features and updates too. Pre-ordered Deluxe Edition on Steam

Whilst my tastes are catered for, I do feel a bit sorry for US railfans.

Also, as a Pico 4 VR headset owner using UEVR, I'm a little bit disappointed about TSWVR being a Meta Quest exclusive. It looks pretty cool but I would have much preferred to see VR and the controls integrated into the main TSW core that I can use with any brand headset and with all my existing DLC. Now that we have a new title specifically for VR, I fear that hope is now all but lost.

But overall, good job team DTG. I'm looking forward to the new content and especially some of the future third party additions, the introduction of Wales to the UK DLC roster and the GWE remaster.

 

From the ticket, I thought it would be that blue and white HST that does rail tours. Name escapes me.

I will do the free TSW 5 starter then add my favorite routes to it ..then will buy San bernadino and prob the Mbta Boston Framingham due in the 0 to 3 months frame ..as for UK nothing im interested in right away except the just trains 1980s route and maybe the wales route i already own GWR so will look fwd to the route remaster..
