Dec 2nd Reveal - London Overground Mildmay Line from Incredible Trains

What's more exicting, all our new reveals coming out, or maybe it's a brand new chance to explore the heart of London? I hope you're all ready for more overground action!

That's right, we're heading back to London with the London Overground Mildmay line: Stratford – Willesden Junction add-on, a new upcoming route featuring a 12-mile section of North London, brought to you by our latest third-party solo developer Johannes Hartmann.

Get ready to be operating the Class 378 Capitalstar with intense 8-trains-per-hour gameplay, featuring freight traffic and AI on multiple mainlines. As for the scenery, expect to find iconic key landmarks to spot across London, such as the Olympic Park, the HS1 tunnel entrance from the Southeastern High-Speed route, as well as the dense urban scenery you can expect for a thriving city.

For those of you who are a fan of the new Route Hopping feature in Train Sim World 5, and own existing UK content, you’ll be able to jump between multiple stations as you go! This includes:
      • Hop from Stratford to Stratford Intl on Southeastern High Speed
      • Jump to the Suffragette Line route at Gospel Oak
      • Take Willesden Junction to either WCML South or the Bakerloo Line!

The suburban rails of North London await you in this upcoming add-on, and we look forward to sharing more screenshots and information as we enter the new year!

    Dec 3rd Reveal - Metrolink F59PHR Loco Add-on

We're back for a new reveal in our calendar, and today this is a new announcement coming in a lovely US-loco shaped box...

Get ready to complete your Metrolink primary roster with a North American classic – the Metrolink F59PHR, in its white livery. Take charge across California, with regional passenger services out of Los Angeles, and hustling along either the newly released San Bernardino Line, or across the Antelope Valley Line.

This is a modern, rebuilt variant of the loco, identified by the “R” designation in the name, and you’ll be able to get an alternative experience whether you take this out on San Bernardino or Antelope Valley.

That’s all we’ll be sharing for now, so if you're excited, then expect more news in the new year over the next couple months to unveil more details about the F59PHR, and for now hold on tight for more Metrolink coming soon!

Dec 4th Reveal - New Timetable Update to Köln-Aachen
This new reveal has new details about a long-anticipated timetable update for one of our oldest German routes...

Above: A busy scene at Aachen Hbf.

That’s right, we’re getting ready to give Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Aachen a huge update to the timetable, with a complete rewrite from the ground up and boosting the service count, including AI services, from the original 552 total all the way up to just over 4,000 The highest service count of any TSW route ever!

Above: Two of the newest players! ICE T is here as AI and the FlixTrain will have a few playable services. Mostly yard runs but also two full length runs.

This will be a free update for owners of the Köln-Aachen route, and includes new services you’ll already be familiar with for the RE1, RE9, S-bahn and ICE. Additionally, you’ll be able to drive the RE 8 and RB 27 in both directions, and there are new DMU services for the RB 20 and RB 38 run by the 642, as well as new IC, ICE 1 and FlixTrain services between Köln Hbf and Aachen Hbf.

On top of all that, the RB 20 allows us to serve a new station, Eilendorf, which is only serviced by RB20 and some peak RE services.

There are also many new AI services to be seen a various stations such as Aachen Hbf, Düren and of course Köln Hbf which has non-stop activity through the day.

Above: RE7, one of the new AI services and RE9 running with Dostos.

The traffic brings in trains from Main Spessart Bahn (146/Dosto), Hauptstrecke Rhein-Ruhr (422, 425), Kassel-Wurzburg (401, 403), Maintalbahn (642) and even the 411 from Frankfurt Fulda.

For the freight fans, the timetable now features a huge new range of services to experience with a new detailed timetable. Freight trains will need to stop at passing points for highspeed trains or even other freight trains, and whilst most are A-B runs, there are a few shunting services for Stolberg too.

Above: This images shows one of the playable FlixTrain services passing a freight train lead by the BR 155.

If this has got you excited about the upcoming overhaul, but you don't yet own the Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Aachen route, then be sure to grab it whilst it's 50% off for players on PC via the Steam platform in the Steam Autumn Sales!

There is so much to be excited about that we couldn’t fit it all in this update, but we'll be sure to share all the fine details you can expect when we’re ready.

    Dec 6th Reveal - BR Class 86/2 & Mk2F Coaches
And as our final calendar reveal for week 1, we're finally reveal our teaser that Just Trains left at the end of our November roadmap...

Just Trains: "We are very pleased to announce our next DLC for TSW5. The Class 86/2 Electric Locomotive! This forerunner to the Class 87 will come with the air-conditioned Mk.2f coaches and the Mk.1 Buffet Car all of which are Livery Designer compatible."

"The Class 86/2 was employed on the WCML and pulled both Passenger and the occasional Freight service. The 86/2 was a subclass of the 86/0 and had an improved suspension set up to rectify issues that the earlier 86/0 locomotive had such as rough riding and track wear. The 86/2 maximum speed was set at 100 MPH. You will be sure to enjoy the authentic and distinctive sound set."

"Our Class 86/2 will feature authentic, accurate modelling inside and out along with unique access to the Machine Room area with some of the controls in that area being operational. There will be four liveries and a set of realistic scenarios."

"Along with air conditioning, the Mk.2f coaches feature the much more modern looking rectangular windows v/s the older square type with sliding ventilation portions at the top. The Mk.2f’s also have a vastly more modern interior v/s the older wooden style interior."

"The Just Trains Class 86/2 coupled with the Mk.2f Coaches and Mk.1 Buffet Car gives you a powerful combination to drive and enjoy!"

Thank you to our partners at Just Trains for providing these in-development screenshots of the Class 86/2! We'll be checking back in with them soon, and in the mean-time be sure to follow their website blog for regular updates from their teams.

If you've yet to try and master TSW's longest UK route and the Class 87 which was released last week from the Just Trains team, find out more details on our West Coast Main Line: Preston - Carlisle Out Now article.

Week 1 Bonus Reveal - Athena Simulations ECML Diesel Railtours Pack
Oh what's this? We've got a bonus update at the end of each week planned, with even more news about project updates that we wanted to squeeze in! Let's check in with Athena Simulations on their work for their announced ECML Diesel Railtour Pack:

Athena Simulations: "ECML diesel Railtours brings exciting new content, both for the East Coast Mainline route and timetables across TSW5 as a whole. Highlights of the pack include a brand new Class 47 locomotive. Modelling what is often regarded as the most iconic member of the Class, 47484 Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

The locomotive, featured in its special edition livery was often used on numerous railtours and hauled the Royal Train, from its base at Old Oak Common shed. Utilising the latest in modelling techniques in TSW5, the locomotive features custom 3D nameplates and 3D number plates plus a highly detailed model. The team have even gone so far to recreate the variations in each cab end, after the real locomotive was rebuilt after accident damage!"

"The pack also brings to TSW5 a range of Mark 1 coaches with custom 3D modelling, in BR blue and grey livery as much requested by the community! In addition to the widely sought after liveries, each of the coaches has also had a 3D makeover, bringing them to the exacting and exciting standards achievable in TSW5. Included in the pack are the BG, TSO, BSO and FK in response to fan demand!"

"The pack includes 10 scenarios, custom created with new features such as complex depot movements, the opportunity to run around your train and coupling double headed formations for very special railtours along the East Coast Mainline. A wide range of AI services have been created for each of the scenarios, including layering of appropriate rolling stock from other UK routes."

"The iconic 47484 “Isambard Kingdom Brunel” is also fully drivable on a range of UK routes for TSW5, seamlessly substituting into the existing timetables for a wide range of routes as desired, including full timetable integration for Preston-Carlisle and Blackpool-Preston routes from Just Trains, both natural homes for the Class 47. The loco is also fully quick drive compatible for all your favourite routes!"

Please note to operate the Class 45 and Class 40 scenarios “Northern Transpennine” and “Class 40 heavy haul” route packs are required. All other scenarios only require the East Coast Mainline route, which is one of the core routes from Train Sim World 4, and now currently available as a separate route Add-on for Train Sim World 5. Get 60% off off this add-on for Steam and Xbox platforms until the 11th / 12th December.

Thank you Athena Simulations, we'll be back soon to check in on more updates for this upcoming pack. Join us all next week for a whole new set of reveals, and we're slowly building towards our grand-reveal at the end of the month!

Join us next week for more reveals! :)

That artwork is virtually indistinguishable from the mock-up you showed on the roadmap. :)

l hope it’s easier than trying to find a new release in the Microsoft Xbox Store at 10am on the day of release!!!

Sorry guys, the London overground is a snoozefest for me.
Finger crossed for something better coming up

  8. I know its from a 3rd party and we can't blame this one on DTG, but it is a bit disappointing that it doesn't go to Richmond or Clapham Junction, which would make a good link with London Commuter and potentially an SWR route in the future. Not the best news but it is better than some other routes we have had. In other words, disappointing, but still a buy.

A 378 and new UK route made by a third party developer? Yep I'll be buying it.

My only concern is that Stratford like Barking before it, will be deserted.

I was seriously hoping for the coverage down to Clapham junction. As 377s run down that line connecting the WCML to the BML. Can’t say I’m not surprised though considering I think this is a solo developer. Really glad to see the 378 though.

Agreed. Richmond isn't even that much further. Do we have the stock in-game to make Stratford a busy hub?

I find it disappointing that it doesn't go to Richmond, and astounding that it doesn't go to Clapham Junction.

Stoked for more Overground (love the density of the Goblin route)
Not so stoked for the Willesden Junction end point.

l am of the same opinion. For such a short route l hope we are not charged £29.99, because if so l would have expected a much longer route.

From the initial images l get the impression that there will be a lot of attention to detail and hopefully it reflects the real route!

There’s almost nothing that could appear. You could get some substitution on Central and Elizabeth Line services, but not much more.

No the 710 hasn't made it on to the North London line (I refuse to call it the Mildmay line as it's not it's official name) yet. But yes a lot of freight use it.

Will link up nicely with the GOBLIN at Gospel Oak, freight from Wembley to Barking & Stratford. Shame there won't be any diverts to Stratford via South Tottenham.

Similar in length to Suffragette Line, and services take up to 45mins end to end in Timetable.
Length isn't always an indication of value for money, just look at the sloppy garbage Fife Circle was.

The 3rd Party did initially say in this forum that he was wanting to do a full London Network, so hopefully this is just going to be the start of it.
Maybe Willesden - Richmond may be his next project, and hopefully it would be able to be joined to this to allow running along the full length of the Mildmay line.
Wonder what AI we will see, hopefully reskinned 710s as 345s & 720s at Stratford, the JT 86 or a 66 as a Freightliner example etc.
Wonder if substitution will be set up, but with a low value, to allow an odd 710 to appear, as in real life.

I assumed the OP was asking if it did any passenger runs on the line.

  27. Richmond is the irl terminus of this route, so it would make more sense for it to end there, and would also be a good hop point for a future District Line or SWR route. As for Stratford, we have the 378, but thats it. No 1992 TS or 1995 TS for LU services, no 745 or 720, 170 is in wrong livery for GA services, no 345 or 315 for EL services, it will be pretty dead, yeah.

Just wait.... Pretty sure that in 2025 you'll have a 745/755 to play with.

Wonder if someone will add the 378 to the SEHS Dartford to Gravesend services as well. Those were the days....

to be fair the Goblin Line only really features the 710 and class 66 freight workings and that was a popular route.

The route and train I was really looking forward to. First day purchase!!! It's a pity that it's not a full line, but I hope that it will continue and we'll get to Richmond.

Still amazed at the TSW Community. A one man band announces a new route, and you're all up in arms that it's not the full Mildmay line.... Cut the DEVELOPER some slack. It's one person who probably started making a route in their spare time as a hobby and then realised that it's a full time job to do something like this.

Very true , everything goes up In flames quickly with the communtity. The route looks good we got a new train which look really good, we've seen this developers ambitions and we can hope for a longer route in the future. Still a 45 minute run can't wait to have a drive.

I took a closer look at the screenshots and noticed a VERY DETAILED study of OHLE, personally, I am very happy about this)

I didn't say anyone was slating the developer. I said that certain aspects of the community are and I quote myself "Up in arms that it's not the full Mildmay line".

At 4ft 5 inches, I find it very hard to mount a high horse, so sorry, think you're wrong on this one!

Anyway read my signature if you've got a problem with my comment.

    l agree about Fife.

Suffragette Line was only £24.99 so l hope that this is no more than that.

Really? How many times have we had "BUT IT DOESN'T GO TO BLAH BLAH...WAH WAH WAH!!".

It's one person making this route. One.

Nope, no GA stock or MTR Elizabeth line either. Central line stock or DLR. So it'll be pretty dead

Only the 745 goes through stratford, unless the 755 is covering (i think, i get the numbers mixed on the count of not really caring about them)

To be honest, I’m not so bummed about Willesden Junction as the western end point. It will be busy there, and the route hop feature is pretty optimal there too. The other end at Stratford (for now) will be similar to Barking on the Goblin / Suffragette - a classic ‘big’ station lacking all the layers, but a +1 in the LAMPOIL case for future add-ons / developments.

I've already shared my thoughts on this reveal so will spare this thread of those. Also, I haven't read the thread so I don't get distracted from what I came here to say, so sorry if the below has already been mentioned but...

...you don't actually need to watch the video to find out the reveal, so may I suggest to DTG that you don't say what you are revealing in the title of the video. May make this reveals thing slightly more 'exciting' or 'interesting', though for either of those we'd best hope its not just modern EMUs around London, as it were today.
