I’m playing on Xbox via gamepass. Enjoying the game reasonably well for a couple of weeks. But I’ve run into this probably several times now. I’ll be reeling in a fish—often I think it’s the big ones that do it. Adjusting the drag as I fight the fish. Which is weird, but I won’t go into that. I’ll have it between, say, 15-30, and everything is going fine. Then suddenly, I lose all feeling in the reel. The line goes slack. And I notice that my drag is set to 0. So I try to increase it, but it's stuck. It'll go to 1 and then flash back to 0. It won't go higher. Eventually, I lose the fish. I used to quit the round to restore function, but now I've found I can switch rods and then switch back. But still, I've lost a number of useful fish on this damn Lake Boulder tourney because of this drag bug. Also, if I've got a monster pike on the line, and it's out 90 yards or whatever, and I'm fishing away, being towed all over the lake by this thing. Then it turns and starts swimming toward me. That #5 reel speed just doesn't seem to be quite as quick at bringing in that slack as when I don't have a fish on the line. Like, what's the purpose of reel speeds when I'm fighting a fish anyway? Am I supposed to change it? Or just change the drag? Anyway, points for a different thread, I'm sure.
Oh, and am unrelated bug but while I'm here... Sometimes when I start out a round with my bass gear, I'll cast it out, expecting like 28 yards or whatever, and it will just sail. Like 984 yards. 1310 yards. Some crazy number. And then there's nothing I can do about it. Those are the situations where I actually have to quit the round to restore normal function. Weird. Edit: Literally did it again right after I posted this. Drove my boat for 2 minutes to get to my spot on Lake Boulder. Deployed the trolling motor, but got a little glitch with that. Had to pick up a rod a second time (so there's more involved with this bug than just the casting, I'm sure). Then I cast it out, and it sails for 1117 yards. I cannot reel it in. Like, I'm on 5 speed, and my hand isn't even moving, though I do feel vibration as if I'm feeling. So I reset the cast and pick up a different rod. Cast it 5%. It goes 1117 yards. So I have to start all over. When it's doing this, I try to remember to make a quick cast from the dock to see if it's going to glitch or not, so I don't waste time driving.
