Hello, was the draw distance always this bad or did I just notice it now? Is there a way to improve it? Thanks for any responses
Draw distance isn't great. Down to performance issues i believe. If you're on pc, ini changes are an option.
Matt confirmed none of these settings were changed between tsw 2 and 3. I think it's due to the different lighting messing up the shadows. As mentioned above a few ini tweaks solves the problem.
DTG: New volumetric skies bring a transformed atmosphere to routes, clouds roam free at altitude, casting shadows on the ground. Lightning dances among intense storms, the roar of thunder competing with the hefty sound of machinery. Feel total immersion as the turbulence of wind physics hammers the side of your train. Yes, no rail shadow in advertising. It's not important.
Consult Maik Goetz' post from earlier today; pushing out draw distance in a moving real-time TOD game would crush framerates, especially on consoles. The amount of processing power required increases as the cube of the distance.
