WHAT?! :o:o:o. Two things. One; How is that even possible secondly was it witnessed.

  4. Yes just several miles away, everything goes on in my area.

  5. I have no idea how it happened, anything is possible :D it was near a busy hi st so I would imagine there where plenty of witnesses.

Not sure if it was actually a learner driver or the instructor driving. It makes you wonder how it happened, the car should have dual controls.

They probably hit an asphalt pothole...

In all seriousness, I hope they were ok!

Interesting that the cars seem relatively intact.

I couldn't help myself - I had to try my hand at a bit of investigation (rather poorly I think, but we've got to start somewhere).

The car looks like a Seat Ibiza.
There appears to be some damage just above the front wheel. This could be pre-existing damage.
From what I can see, the Hyundai i30 seems undamaged. This means the impact with it was probably a low speed impact.
There appears to be some glass on the ground, and the rearmost side window has a reflection in it so is undamaged in that region. It is most likely the rear window of the Seat.
The lights in the background seem to suggest the authorities were at the scene (phew) and so they could have broken the window to remove the occupants if they were in the car and the doors were jammed.
Not entirely sure what is going on with the road in the bottom left corner.
Looks like it was a fairly wet surface (puddles, bottom right). This may have increased the likelihood of an accident.
There doesn't seem to be any debris on the road, so it is unlikely the car slid upside down a great distance.
I don't see any skid marks nearby so the car did not skid in the frame.

What I think happened is the car was approaching, and for some reason turned sharply left for some reason, possibly understeered, and then slid round like it was doing a handbrake turn. During this motion it may have rolled and spun, being stopped by the Hyundai. The roll may also explain the dent above the front wheel, but it is only a theory.

Saw something similar on my way to work the other night (had to wait two hours for the mess to be cleared), except the car collided with a motorbike. Mini Cooper had roof missing (3 fire suggest someone was cut out) and it was as if someone had just taken a wrecking ball to it.
