I think Tsw should start games with introduction to vehicles, route learning with an instructor, and like Driver (a old car driving game) have a driving exam with a Percentage pass rate. Points should then be rewarded on driving, ie driving to speed limits, timekeeping acknowledgement of whistle boards or track workers. Maybe even faults Coming up, sticking passenger door etc.
No thanks. Tutorials are good, but I don't need some kind of exam or strict system to give points. The career system in Train Simulator had harsh scoring penalties for things like running late, and IMO it sucked. I'm glad TSW scoring system is more forgiving, and pretty meaningless too. And for those of us who like things realistic, they can do so without any scoring systems.
I don't like this idea. It takes time to get good at driving a specific locomotive. Doing a test is just gonna put you under pressure to not make any mistakes. Doing scenarios and timetables is the best way to improve your skills
I think a full-on (optional) Career Mode would be better. I've actually made a suggestion like this before. Reading Version: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/career-mode.30947/ Video Version: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/a-career-mode-for-tsw.32001/
