Hello, I'm currently using a QWERTY-keyboard on my XBox Series S to play Train Sim World 4. However, for some reason I can't increase the driver's break using the apostrophe key: ` Everything else seems to work as intended. I also tried a different keyboard but I had the same issue. Can anyone confirm the problem? Or does it work for someone? Best regards, Michael
Is this with all trains, or just one? Which trains have you encountered the issue with? Can you release the driver's brake with the semicolon ( key as well? Some trains have a combined power/brake handle, so you can't use the train brake keys, but instead must use A and D. Could this be the issue?
I tried several trains with a separate driver's brake and all seem to be affected. Releasing the brake using semicolon works just fine.
I'm sorry to say that there is no keyboard/mouse support on consoles. Basic functionality only exists because the game is built with Unreal Engine. At this time, there are no plans to introduce official support for keyboards on consoles.
Sad, proper mouse and keyboard support would be invaluable. Especially because the Xbox natively supports HID keyboards and mouses anyway. I will use the Xbod adaptive controller next to my keyboard for the time being. It's not a perfect solution, but it does the trick.
Gosh just imagine the possibilities if they enabled a few switches that PC users have when they compiled this masterpiece for consoles.... Even if that one key didn't ever work it could be circumvented by the TSW4 feature of remapping keyboard controls. This game is made for keyboard controls and in some cases needs it because otherwise that functionality is absent from the controller. As a side note this exact same problem existed in TSW2020 on the PS4. When I moved to TSW2 on my PS5, the problem was solved. So while they say "Not officially supported" what they should say is "Occasionally looked at and considered" but clearly not in this case.
