    Why not Google me ?

How many years did i have my own message section at a huge Tokyo software firm ?

How many years was i with a French software cmpany in Montreal ?

Where did I live in Germany ?

Why was i in the West Wing when Al Gore was Vice-President ?

Who did i know at Bombardier and Siemens ?

Do you really think that i need a YouTube channel to speak in the native language to Focus, Sony, Alstom, Siemens ?

And my Russian is not useless. Smart Americans learned both French and Russian and then picked up German with ease.

What did i do in software during my years in which of 4 large American cities ?

Just an old Canadian customer running your train sim world on 4 platforms.

4 is so unlucky in Tokyo.

i don't think i know anyone at Stadler, but BNSF, yup.

I do know that if you link a corporate logo, trademark or name to buggy software, you learn that now familiar FAFO.

It only takes one person in software in Braunschweig to start a question moving up the Siemens chain.

American say " What gos around, comes around." I don't really think that fits the corporate image concerns in Fortune 200 corps.

It is not just bugs ... it is any association with bugs, flaws or shoddy work of any kind.

Stadler, for example, is trying to get into new markets. That means they want to be associated with Swiss quality.

Alstom does not yet have the North American cachet that they want.

It doesn't have to be me.

Shoddy work is a business risk. Short cuts now can cost big time later. It's just how business is self-correcting through feedback. Not just sales and revenue and net profit. Rep. Cred. Good will evaluation.

DTG is gambling with our hobby.

By not fixing BR187, DTG puts at risk any reference in our hobby to TRAXX, Bombardier or Alstom.

It only takes one new hire of someone senior at Alstom whose grandkid is a Train Sim World devotee who has run out of patience.

It is not the "We are on good terms with ABC" it is merely that Luckily

"We are on good terms with ABC for now"

That is why business buy risk management software.

    Risk is not some fiction.

Risk is as real as owing taxes or interest or dividends. It is a concept of a real aspect of economic systems, political systems, transport systems, criminal enterprises, adultry.

Fools mistake risk for fear. Merely in your mind. Wrong.

AI using ML based on LLM using internet corpus means that it is only a matter of time before any large corp knows where its good name is getting a bad rep.

    Time alone.

    Read: " inevitable"

So a biz wants to be able to have in print on the web: issue X addressed AND to have no indication that their claim was misleading or simply false.

Window dressing is no longer an option. Youtube fanboy transcripts just may not suffice.

Every additional player-hour on our hobby on 4 platforms raises the probability that any flaw becomes an issue that a bug fx alone may not address adequately.

Millions of users seen as a network in itself would reveal the increasing number of paths from fatal bug to corporate decision maker, from reported flaw to corporate decision maker. That includes Focus, Sony, CP, MRCE ... a fairly long list.

Look at Hamburg Subway sim and Hamburg subway corp. Look at the choice of Japanese Rail West and Hokkaido and their sim developer.

Could DB choose an alternate developer 5 years from now ?

It is not an imponderable of some worry-wart.

It is a risk and it warrants a known series of steps to both remediate, reduce and monitor. The last, if neglected, results in the proverbial " wake-up call"

All engineering must address real risks.

Truck sim publishers and creators SCS understand this.

They also out-perform DTG in several respects including pricing.

TML Studios may yet fall on their faces thru sheer hubris.

I would place my money on SCS still being in the lead in five years and finally on PlayStation.

What is the point of this?

Also, what is this? Apart from a mindless rant about... something.

I don’t know why but he reminds me someone on this forum who was a real pain and got banned multiple times, for those here for a long time I’m referring to that synthetic pal or whatever his pseudo was, he had a robot as his profile picture.

He makes a lot of rant threads, mostly in Troubleshooting.

He's even complained about the City Tram Simulator game, because its initials, CTS, is the acronym for the Strasbourg Trams system.

Or as I think is the case here, he's old and not got the greatest or tightest grip on reality, so it's probably all making perfect sense to that dude, which means we need to huff said glue to have it all make sense......

Quite the interesting thread...solely because it makes no sense lol

I love Dovetail. They've always been supportive of any issues and provided remedies or resolved them. I would expect that though given I've spent thousands on DLC over the years.

I don't agree with DTG not fixing previous iterations of TSW though - I never will. They keep making 80'/90's US Routes and I'll be happy.

I suppose it's a case of 'on what charge?' The closest I can think of is spam, but that could be a grey area.

Plenty of support out there too, you've got just trans doing their two mid 80s routes, and releasing an upgrade in the form of the 86/2, mk2F and finally the mk1 RMB. We've also got the developers name that I am too lazy to look up producing another 1st gen dmu and upgrading the Peak Forest route, those will be something cool.

That's them, really tiny web presence. I don't mind if we wait 18 months or so if its worth it, the Peak Forest is a great route which just needs a bit more to give it some fizz

On my prediction list for 2026, if at all. Along with Tadami. It’s a shame as when announced there was great excitement but the longer it remains in development limbo, the further PFR gets displaced by newer content and quietly forgotten.
