I saw and read recently that dtg fix-it-team had been trying to get the lirr into top notch form,so will the lirr in any better shape then it was in the past?
What... First off, how would we know, it is not released yet, but in beta testing apparently. And secondly, considering the peek we were given on the fixes and improvements, how would it not be in a better shape afterwards? From bug fixes to sound fixes and added features like Pis-boards, passenger behavior and livery designer compatibility almost everything had a pass. And on the next pass-whenever that is going to be-they can still add the new level crossings.
I did not buy diesel legends pack so I can't compare them. But considering that Adam's team is not working on something entirely new, but instead focuses on improving what already exists, I very much think they will do a better job. The difference is that Adam is not bound to a certain release date, at which point they have to release the update in the state that it is. They can take their time and decide on what to tackle and do it right. The only thing they are limiting themselves to, according to the stream, is the amount of features to implement. And this is due to the fact that there is a bunch of preserved content that desperately needs a pass and they want to to do all of them. So even if they could potentially work 3 months on long Island, they need to look at what can be done before going over to the next dlc and give each of them a fair amount of time. After all, they can always come back to long Island.
Adams team did a good job with the sound on GWR, so I have confidence in LIRR. Only time will tell, but the number of fixes mentioned seems impressive. I think Adam said there was over 70 things on the list they looked at.
Adam's team had nothing to do with the GWE-DL addon, your comparison is like saying the suspension team at Ford really need to make better radios...
I don’t believe he mentioned anything about the Diesel Legends pack, referring instead to the original import of GWE into TSW2, which was done properly (with external help) after significant feedback that the sound on all the preserved collection up to that point was way below a standard anyone would be happy with. It’s with the round of fixes to each route now that the same attention should be given to the sound to bring them up to standard.
The OP was about the "fixes team" (which I'm taking to mean Adam's team) and the second response quoted a response to that OP and asked about the diesel legends pack, so I presumed they were still talking about "the fix-it team" and the GWE-DL pack. If not then fair enough...
But the way the lirr improvements are listed show it to be alot of new and fixes added to a original early route,as for gwr(D.L) it is also a original route but it also has a small bit of new that was added while it's locos&route where bearly changed in any real meaningfull way(meaning looking or even feeling 70'ish).(But as for testing any of this fully before it's release,we all know that's the biggest challenge for dtg).
And I'm just patiently waiting for this update to come out. Mind you I've been waiting for about 6 months
They say that the best things in life are sometimes worth waiting for, unfortunately for those of us who play this game what we all tend to be waiting for are the train&route fixing updates, which end the end truly can make any TSW player sad.Because no new dlc route or loco should be released so broken it ruins the experience for almost everyone who loves the game.
