Due to the latest DTG patch, the brakes now apply but won't release. Loco: ES44DC BNSF, Scenario: Hot Box Part 2. Why is my train only crawling with 12 mph when I had no trouble reaching 23 before? Brake handle in release. Because there's a constant 6 pound reduction on the pipe, see F5 HUD. Heavily disappointed... we gave you all the answers and you still did not get this right, DTG! If you would just communicate more with your customers... I'm now definitely swapping this piece of junk for the HiLine ES44!
I watched the stream where Jamie showed it off and noticed he was constantly having to lease the brakes when he ran it. And running it right now the brakes do not seem to be fully released.
I'm losfer words... so they knew about it and still released it... I won't say what I think now of DTG. There's just no excuse for that. No. Please give this game to a caring developer DTG. And they've made my working fix useless instead of including it.
I agree it should have tested correctly not only making sure that both the Dynamic's and train brakes apply. But that they both release correctly.
I can overlook a floating tree or a bad sound. But to release something with a broken core function and then patching it to break it again, and on top of that, noticing there's something wrong and still having the guts to release that to the public in the hope we won't notice? Are they taking us for fools? Just unbelievable.
I agree small things can always be overlooked as they are not gaming breaking issues. However things like brakes or anything built into the core of the game should be working properly.
So, I was able to complete Pt. 2 earlier today before having to disappear for a few calls. The dynamic brakes when set do not show anything on the hud and what I found odd with the train fully on a downgrade really did not need to use any brakes.
I've swapped them for the fine HiLine ES44's in those two scenarios. Brakes and lights work thanks to VNHRR/Michael Stephan. DTG don't know nothing about loco brakes. I can understand, you cannot know everything, I mean 12 years of developing a train sim you can't expect them to know everything can you? I'm wondering how they managed to get it right 9 years ago with Sherman Hill's ES44. Probably just out of luck. Or some original developer from Kuju told them how it's done.
Thank you for the feedback, this has been fed back to the team. I wasn't aware of the issue until I streamed the scenario but tried my best to keep the train moving.
I was on the point of buying the Classic update. Won't bother now until that issue is fixed. I am comfortable with swapping locos when I wish, but refuse to do so just to fix a core error. Can DTG not get together with torfmeister or learn from what Searchlight Simulations have been able to do? I wonder how many pages we would need to list all the known bugs which are never fixed.
