I’m sure many of you on these forums are sick about hearing about Irish Rail, although DTG won’t recognise that there is a market without these sort of posts, so here it goes: I suggest a route is made on the Western Commuter line going from Dublin (Pearse & Docklands stations in particular) passing through the suburbs of northwest Dublin up to the satellite town of Mullingar two counties over, featuring a branch from Clonsilla up north to Dunboyne. The line is quadruple-tracked for around 20 km until it splits into two double-tracked lines, one that goes north for ~5 km to the M3 Parkway station, and the other, that continues for ~60 km to Mullingar, totalling 21 stations over ~85 km in operations that include commuter and regional services. The main rolling stock used on the route is the ubiquitous 22000 Class InterCity Railcar DMUs, built by Hyundai Rotem of Korea since 2007 for Irish Rail to run services all across the country, they have a top speed of 160 km/h and are known for their reliability. Again, I know the amount of posts about Ireland might make some lose interest (another sign of demand), Irish railways and international railways in general should be given more of a chance in TSW, and the 1600 mm gauge shouldn’t be a problem considering a few routes at this stage are of non-standard gauge disposition, but hopefully this can pave the route for an eventual Irish DLC.
