I have been trying to playing the Dutch route both as a driver and conductor. Since i travel on the Dutch trains 4 days a week, i quickly noticed that the conductor mode doesn't really correctly simulate what a Dutch conductor does, as far as i have seen while traveling. In the netherlands most people use a card called OV-chipkaart to travel on the trains. You touch your card, and since recently also your bankcard, on a pole or a gate and then start traveling and touch again if you switch operator or end your trip. So the conductors don't check if you have ticket for a specific route, but more that: You have checked in Have checked in with the correct operator If you sit in 1st class, also check if your card has a valid 1st class subscription If you have checked in on off-peak hours subscription, if you indeed are now traveling off-peak And also they check all people, not specific people that just boarded. That might be for points a bit harder, but that is what happens in real life. So it would be nice if the game would represent it a bit more realistic. Also i noticed both on the Dutch route and on other routes that if it is the first station of a route where you start, most passengers already have boarded and you don't have any thing to do until the first stop. But if it is and IC service, that only stops on the end station or maybe once, you don't have much to do as a conductor.
