Pardon any form of ignorance or blissful unawareness but I've not seen anything in regards to my proposal but the context is:

There should be an option in Timetable mode where there is "dynamic" disruptions to your journey or the route as a whole.

For instance, it could be an issue with your train where you got an object stuck in the door or your train has a reduced power fault -- or any form of fault! It could be something to do with the line where there's a signal failure, an issue with the tracks or another train's broken down, maybe the driver's a little late in setting up their train and they're occupying your platform.

I'm not suggesting something advanced like single-line workings (though that could be a nice feature) or something to massively delay services like derails or obstructions on the line, but something in the middle that variates the delays between 1-15 minutes going on within the route and what more only as an option to toggle on/off before you start the route or a journey. It gets repetitive having a straight clear path all the time so I figure something like this could reinvigorate the interests in routes and have replayed causes for older routes too.

I'm onboard with feedback and scope of things but just thought it would be a nice thing to suggest to further keep interests rather than it being new stuff all the time.

I would honestly love a feature like that, the only thing that worries me however is how this would this work with thr AI train? And if it break them. Of course, now we can just delete defective AI trains but still.

I think if you left the train, it would be easiest for the AI to just abandon the fault. However, if they worked harder on it then AIs could also just obey a speed limit, or have a new acceleration or path.

The AI would probably (hopefully at least) just carry on as per following the scripting for driving A to B obeying the signals.

The idea of the fault is just a temporary one, either one you can rectify yourself or it gets "resolved" by the next station or a few (random integer)

Dynamic events and delays/disruptions is a thing which is requested a lot in this forum (could actually be the number one) and also is a thing I would really like to see in Train Sim World.

I think the biggest problem why this is not yet in game and maybe not intensively planned on, is the way how timetables do work and being structured, plus this in combination with how complex the signal system/dispatcher works and is structured.

It would need a new implementation to the core which allows dynamic input into these systems.

Choosing a certain service/scenarios with disruptions or spawning somewhere at any rush hour time in "On Foot" mode is currently the closest thing to it. I like spawning a loco, set a path and see how the dispatcher patches me through the traffic.

However, I wish occasional delays (of course toggable and maybe even with an accompanied slider to adjust the probability/chance to happen) could be added to service mode though.

Things like that enhance the playability and immersion in other simulators.
