Dynamic weather does not work in Journey mode. I drove in the Cajon pass for an hour and a half, and not a single cloud appeared. There was a timetable not a finished job.
Dynamic Weather isn't currently in Journey Mode (it's pre-set), but it may be something we change in future.
If the weather isn't dynamic, you should at least change the UI so it doesn't say Dynamic Weather under Weather Settings when choosing a service in Journey Mode. Having it say Custom Weather would be more appropriate.
Well tsw3 is in early access and they need all the feedback they need and answer questions people may have before the game actually releases
like previously stated journey modes weather is set in a set by set process if you want to decide what weather you have or if it's dynamic go on timetable mode
Pretty sure this is by design, as journey mode is supposed to be hand-selected groups of activities with predetermined weather to give some variety and challenge. Probably best ‘cause in timetable mode it seems to me dynamic weather always ends up in a bally thunderstorm!
Has anything changed about the weather? Today I was driving the BR110 Bremen - Oldenburg in journey mode and the weather changed.
When I want to select a Journey the Weather settings are always "Dynamic Weather" and a Date is pre-selected. So I guess, yes, Dynamic Weather is active for a lot more Journeys (now) (PC, Steam)
New routes certainly have some journeys with dynamic weather. Think BBO was the first, and I've seen it on ScotRail Express and Niddertalbahn along with newer game play packs Not seen evidence on Trenton or with the Acela of this.
Please don't! I sooo enjoy not driving in rainstorm, which is what I always get when I forget to turn off dynamic weather. Rainstorm every time, no matter the initial settings.
Yes, I should have added I only did some journey tasks (in TSW3) for the newer routes, yet (BRO, NTB, LFR, KSW)
I don't find that's the case at all. Yes it feels a bit to frequent but sometimes it won't change at all or just go light clouds to clear but unless I'm watching out for it, it doesn't register.
Niddertalbahn has dynamic weather in journey mode (but it is a TSG release, not DTG). TBH, I don't think it is automatically better to have dynamic weather in journey mode. Maybe in some specific chapters, but definitely not in all of them. AFAIK the point of journey mode is to show us specific scenarios and timetable services that have something interesting in it. If, for example, there is a nice sunrise in a morning timetable service and the weather dynamically changes to thunderstorm it is going to ruin it.
Glad it works for you. As far as I remember: heavy rain all the way. The weather I actually choose, lasts usually for what feels like 2-3 minutes.
It is in there for the newer & older routes that's why I encountered Clear Weather then Fog Rain on Bahnstrecke Dresden Chemnitz Werdau Gutenfürst Tharandter Rampe IRE1.
