The east coast mainline is an iconic line in Britain. London - Grantham - Leeds -York - Durham - Newcastle, then possibly on to Edinburgh. This would be a great addition to the game!

Would be nice, but it would be very hard to load. Routes are typically 40-50 miles long on TSW

Maybe just sections of the ECML will make sense, like a Edinburgh-Berwick or Darlington-York. As beaker998 said it is too long for TSW

I’d love to see the Class 91 in the InterCity Swallow livery on the ECML, maybe Doncaster to York or York to Darlington

But it’s not though, TrainSim-Matt has already stated that they can build any length for TSW2020, it’s the time to actually create the route which is the biggest issue.

At the moment, I’d personally like to see DTG expand the collection with shorter route for now. Then we can get into longer routes that take more time.

I agree, but eventually a longer route would be more than welcome, especially if it’s a HST.

Ah, I just believed that they couldn’t run larger routes. Nice to know it is possible to exceed that 50 mile mark

Yeah, from what I understand it loads in “one tile” at a time so they could make a 300 mile route if they wanted/had the time and resources to do so.

Correct and confirmed several times by DTG. It does mean that the continental routes become possible, if implausible dev wise

It is possible to build the route. However, the longer the route the more trains & assets needed to run. This would only mean that computers would high levels of RAM would be able to run the route. It would also not be able to be released on Console.

Depends on whether the assets are all loaded at once. There are always going to be pinch points at major stations, but out in the wilds the limitation shouldn't apply, so depends whether assets can port in and out or whether they're all "just there"

If I may I would like to add one word to this discussion which IMHO would add considerably to the appeal of an ECML route perhaps to the point of making it an essential purchase for some including yours truly:

    Deltic.

    (Mmm... Deltics.)

Class 66 Freightliner, Class 43 and Class 91 LNER Livery but could hire Class 90 DB Schenker.
